How to Install the Hopkins Endurance Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness on a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2013 Chevy Silverado we'll be installing the Hopkins Endurance fifth wheel and gooseneck 90 degree wiring harness, part number 41157. To begin our install we'll first locate where we're going to mount the new 7-pole connector in the pickup bed. For this application, we'll be doing it behind the driver's side wheel well. Using our hole saw bit, we'll go ahead and cut out the hole for our 7-pole plug. With our hole cut out, we'll then go ahead and take the 7-pole end and route it up underneath the vehicle out the hole we just created into the pickup bed. Once we have our wire routed, we'll go ahead and take some of the dielectric grease provided with the install kit and put it on the end of the wiring connector. Then we can go ahead and take the wiring connector and secure it to the back of the 7-pole connector. We'll go ahead and check to make sure it locked in place.

Now we're ready to mount our 7-pole. Using the self-tapping screws provided with our install kit we'll go ahead and secure it directly to the bed side. Now with our 7-pole connector secured, we'll move underneath the vehicle and start routing our wiring harness. We'll route it up over the frame and over towards the center of the vehicle ultimately to the manufacturer's 7-pole connector at the back of the bumper. Once we locate the 7-pole connector, we'll go ahead and unlock the gray locking tab and release the manufacturer's 7-pole wiring harness from the back of the manufacturer's 7-pole connector. Again, we'll use our dielectric grease and put it on the end of the manufacturer's wiring and plug in the new Hopkins Endurance wiring harness directly into the manufacturer's wiring.

We'll take the other end of our T-connector, install our dielectric grease, and then plug it into the manufacturer's 7-pole. Next we'll go ahead and take some zip ties and secure the wiring up underneath the vehicle. We'll make sure that we still have access to our white wire with the pre-attached ring terminal as this will be the new ground wire for our new wiring harness. We'll route the ground wire over to the vehicle frame and use a self-tapping screw to secure it directly to the frame. Then we'll go ahead and cut off the excess from the zip ties to clean up our install look. This will complete the install of the Hopkins Endurance fifth wheel gooseneck 90 degree wiring harness, part number 41157 on our 2013 Chevy Silverado.
