Review of the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top Bike Rack on a 2013 Toyota RAV4

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav 4, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top trunk-mounted 2-bike carrier for vehicles with spoilers, part number HRF2. Now we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack on the vehicle's rear bumper. Now we already went ahead and flipped out the black levers, which will allow us to adjust to fit the bike rack to the vehicle. We'll loosen up the knobs, which will allow us to bring out the small and large bars of the bike rack. The smaller one of the two bars will rest on the rear hatch of the vehicle, and the larger bar will act as a support once the top straps will come up and hook into the roof of the vehicle. Once we've established this position, we can lock down the black plastic levers and tighten down the knobs to secure it in place.

We'll now take the top straps and hook it to the top part of the vehicle. We'll take the side straps and the bottom straps and hook them as well, the side straps at the side of the vehicle, and bottom straps at the bottom of the vehicle. Now you do not want to tighten them too tight, as you want to make sure that all straps are on first, so that the bike rack doesn't favor one side of the vehicle, which will cause your bike to be held incorrectly. Once all six straps are in position, we can then tighten down the two at the top first by alternating each side as well as the bottom. Now once all six straps have been tightened down, we can then secure the slack.

Once the slack is secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll flip out the bottom two black plastic levers to allow us to swing out the cradle arms. Now the cradle arms do need to be level or slightly angled up. Once we've established this position, we can then clamp down the levers to secure the arms in place. We'll then undo the cradle straps and place our bike into the frame cradle.

We'll finally secure it with the straps. And now that our bike is all loaded up, that will complete today's test fit for the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top trunk-mounted 2-bike carrier for vehicles with spoilers, part number HRF2, on our 2013 Toyota Rav 4.
