Review of the Husky Cargo Floor Liner on a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Rob: Hey, everybody, it's Rob here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Husky Liners' WeatherBeater Custom Cargo Liner on our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now, here we have it in black, but it is going to be available in two additional colors. It's also available in gray and in tan. So, you just want to pick whichever color is going to compliment the interior of your Grand Cherokee the best. Now, a lot of us use our Grand Cherokees for a few different things. A lot of us use them as family cars.

We're taking our kids and friends around. Other times, we may have some pets back here that we want to take on a road trip with us. Or maybe we're just using it to go down to the hardware store, pick up some mulch, maybe some rock, or something like that. Well, anytime we put anything back here, it's going to get pretty dirty, especially if it is pet hair, or if there's any kind of spill, or anything like that, because underneath it's all carpet. And the same thing goes with the back of the seat. And all that dirt, debris, and everything gets stuck down to the carpet, especially that hair.

It's really hard to get out. But our Cargo Liner is going to create a barrier. We're not going to have to worry about all that stuff getting down into the carpet. And the fact that it has raised sidewalls on it, it's going to make sure that all those contaminants stay on the mat and off the carpet. Now the mat is going to be custom fit, so it's going to follow along the floorboard here perfectly. And then if we look back here at the top, you can see there's a little recess section that actually lines up with our factory tie-down hook.

So, we have the option of cutting that out. So, we could actually leave the mat in there the whole time and not have to move it just to get access. The mat is going to be made out of a rubberized thermoplastic, but it does have a rigid core. So, it's going to lay nice and flat. And we shouldn't have to worry about it shifting around, because it is custom fit.Now I know a lot of you will notice that around the edges here, there's a little bit of curling and that's because we just took it out of the box.

So, we're going to give it a little bit of time. The more time you leave it in your vehicle, or if you just find a nice warm, sunny day, lay it outside. The mat will definitely relax and laying nice and flat. The mat's going to have these specifically designed ribs and channels. Now that's going to help us if we have a really wet or muddy type of gear, item, or anything else back here that's messy and wet, because the ribs are going to elevate whatever you have back here, all your gear and stuff, just enough so they're not sitting in standing water. And then the channels are going to help divert that water away. And that's where those raised edges really come into play. Anything that's on the mat, as soon as you start driving, it has the potential to come back, especially if it's water. But those raised edges are definitely going to keep it from seeping over the edge and getting onto the carpet, because that's the whole point of the liner here. We don't want to spend all that time cleaning the carpet. Now, obviously if all the dirt is trapped on the map, the mat's going to get dirty and it's going to be required to get some cleaning. Now if it's a small mess, typically you just get a wet rag, wipe it up, let it air dry. But if you really got a deep mess, or you want to really clean the mat, we can simply pull it out, hose it down with some mild soap water, let it air dry, and then slide it right back in.Now, again, the thing I really like about it is how flexible these mats are, especially after you give it some time. And again, it relaxes a bit. Because say we do have a really big mess, I personally would say, "You're probably best off grabbing each edge, folding it up." Because we can contain all that dirt and not have to worry about it jumping inside, or making a mess on the ground while we're pulling it out. But again, I'm Rob here at etrailer.com. And that'll finish up your look at the Husky Liners' WeatherBeater Cargo Liner on our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee..
