Today on our 2015 Ford Edge, we're going to be doing a test fit on the K-Source universal clip on towing mirror, part number KS3891. It offers us a wide field of view, it's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a trailer or camper. As you can see, I'm visible on the towing mirror but not the factory mirror. Now, if I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you can see there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up, but this is the view you'd get with just your factory mirror. The mirror itself can be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down, diagonal, and then side to side. If we remove the Philips head screw from the back, we can take the mirror out, turn it to the horizontal position for a different view.
Each one of our four clips here is not going to interfere with too much of the movement or operation of our factory mirror, and we can even still fold it in. Here on the back side it uses two ratchet straps to hold it in place around the factory mirror. The nice thing about them being ratchet is you're going to get that extra tight snug fit on the back side here. They also feature thick rubber padding so we don't have to worry about harming the finish of our back side of our mirror. One of the great things about this towing mirror is it's for temporary use, so if you do light-duty towing or heavy-duty towing, you can put it on and take it off fast and easy. Another great thing is it's universal, so if you have any other trucks or SUVs in the family, it's probably going to fit those, too. Now the mirror does come in a quantity of one so if you'd like to pick one up for the passenger side, just use the same part number.
Now I'll show you how easy it is to get installed. So I'm here on the driver's side of my Ford Edge. To begin our test fit, we'll need to make sure that each one of our tabs here on our mirror is opened up just enough to where we can easily clip it on to our housing. Once that's done, we can flip it back over and set it in place. So we want to make sure that the bottom two clips sit on the bottom and the top go between the mirror and the housing. Then we can come around to the back side and run our straps. Now as I run our straps on the back here, we want to make sure that the rubber pad here contours the back side of the mirror, so we're going to put it on in this direction.
We'll take that top portion of the strap, hook it on top, and then do the exact same underneath. Then once we've got it hooked we can come up to our cap, lift it up, and then ratchet it down until it gets nice and snug. Then we can repeat the same process for the strap right here. Now when we're done towing and we wish to release the tension on the strap, underneath our cap here we've actually got a little button. By pressing that down, it's going to allow us to easily pull that strap off. But for right now, go ahead and hook the top and then the bottom and then ratchet it there nice and snug, and now we're ready to tow, it's that easy.
That's going to complete our test fit on the K-Source universal clip on towing mirror, part number KS3891, on our 2015 Ford Edge.
