How to Install the K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror on a 2017 Buick Envision

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Buick Envision, we're going to be doing a test fit on the K-Source Universal Clip On Towing Mirror. That's part number KS3891. Now, the mirror does come in a quantity of one, but if you'd like to pick one up for the passenger side, just use the same part number. It's also available as a pair with part number KS3891-2. It offers us a wide field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lines, pass, or even back up while towing a small trailer or camper.

As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror but not the factory mirror. Now, if I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you can see, there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up. This is the view you get with just your factory mirror. The mirror itself can be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down, diagonal, and even side to side. If we remove the Phillips head screw from behind the mirror, we can take the mirror out and turn it to the horizontal position for a different view.

Here you can see that each one of our clips are not going to interfere with the operation or movement of our factory mirror, and we can even still fold it in. Here on the back side, it has two ratchet straps that hold it in place around the factory mirror. They feature large rubber padding, so they don't harm our paint or finish. Here, you could see it only obstructs a portion of our turn signal, so we're still able to use it. A few great things about this towing mirror are for one, it's for temporary use, so you can take it off when you're done towing.

Another great thing is it's universal. If you have any other trucks or SUVs in the household, it may work with those as well.I'm here on the driver side of my Buick Envision. To begin our test fit, let's go ahead and turn our mirror over. We want to make sure that each one of our clips here is opened up so we can easily fit it around our mirror. Once they're all opened up, we could turn it back over and set it in place.

Now, I'm just going to center it up with my mirror here. Make sure all the clips are inside of the housing. Then I can it in place with one hand and then run my straps. Now, when we run our straps, we want to make sure that the rubber pad here contours the backside of the mirror, so we're going to put it on in this direction. I'll take the plastic portion, hook it on top, and then come underneath and hook it on bottom the same way. Once it's in place, we can come up to our ratchet. We'll lift up our cover and ratchet it down in place. We can kind of position it how we want. Then we can close up our cover and repeat the same process with our second strap. When we're done towing and we're ready to take the towing mirror off, underneath our little cover here we've got a button. By depressing that, it's going to allow us to guide that strap out. Then we can easily take it off. For right now, we'll just connect it just the same, and then tighten it down. Then we can get on our way. That's going to complete our test fit of the K-Source Universal Clip On Towing Mirror, part number, KS3891 on our 2017 Buick Envision.
