How to Install the K Source Clip-on Towing Mirror on a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Today on our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install, the K Source Universal Clip On Towing Mirror, part number KS3891. So here I am at the back of my trailer and you can clearly see my in the factory mirror. But if I step away, you lose track of me. But that's where our tow mirrors going to come into play. Now it's going to give us a better view of what's around us, whether we're driving down the highway, backing up our trailer, or even pulling up to the campgrounds. Our tow mirror's going to have full adjustability, and we're going to be able to adjust it up and down, left and right, to get that perfect viewing angle, as well as being able to rotate it to the side for a wide angle view. Now the way it's going to attach, is there's going to be four small tabs that fit in between our glass and our housing, as well as two straps that are going to come around the back side. Now even though our mirror is going to attach to our factory mirror, we're not going to lose any adjustability, still being able to adjust our factory mirror to the full extent, so we can safely get down the road. And for those close quarter situations, maybe pulling it a parking spot, we can still fold our mirror in, just want to be aware that we can't fold it fully in because it will make contact right here on the door. Now on the back, we're going to have two straps that are going to secure it down, and they're going to have a nice rubber pad that not only's going to give us a nice grip to our factory mirror, but it's also going to give us a little protection, so we're not going to have to worry about any abrasions on our factory mirror. Now one thing I really like about these mirrors is the fact that they are universal. So if you have several different vehicles in your family that you tow with, chances are they might fit those as well.

Now they do come in a quantity of one, so if you need one for the passenger side, just go ahead and use the same part number. Now that we've gone over some of the features and benefits, let's show you how easy it is to get them installed. To begin our installation, we're going to need to open up our arms, and if we bring our attention, we're going to have four small tabs on the inside of our arms and those are actually going to go in between our mirror glass and our mirror housing. So we can take the two small tabs and we can rest them on the mirror housing in between the glass on the bottom and then rotate the upper arm in and line up the tabs. Now we can move to the back side and start running the straps. Now if we reach up underneath, we're going to have a tab, or a hook shape, and that's going to feed into that top hole on that section right there, and to tighten our strap down, we're just going to lift up on this lever, that's going to have a ratcheting action, tighten it down. So we'll bring the other strap up, hook it on there, and if we need to loosen the straps up, we can come to this button right here and if we push on it, it'll lengthen the strap. So then we just need to tighten up the straps and secure it down.
