How to Install the K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror on a 2018 Toyota RAV4

Speaker 1: Today on this 2018 Toyota RAV4, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the K-source universal clip-on towing mirror. It offers us a wide field of view. It's gonna allow us to safely and easily; change lanes, pass, park or even back up while towing a small trailer or camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror but not the factory mirror. Now if I take a few steps in towards my trailer . As you can see, there's no blind spot with the way that we have it set up. Right here, is a view you get with just your factory mirror. The mirror itself can be adjusted to most angles.

We've got our up and down, diagonal, and side-to-side. If we remove the Phillips head screw from the backside, we can actually take the mirror out, turn it to the horizontal position for a different view. Here you can see, our towing mirror is clipped onto our factory housing. The four clips are not gonna interfere with the operation or movement of our factory mirror, and we can even still fold it in. Here on the backside, it uses ratchet straps to hold it in place. This is a really nice feature.

These ratchet straps are gonna hold it extra tight, compared to others. They both each feature large rubber pads, so we don't have to worry about them harming or scratching the finish of the backside of our mirror. Here you can see, we've still got full use of our turn signal. A few great things about a universal towing mirror is: For one; it's for temporary use, so you can take it off when you're done towing. Another great thing is; since it is universal, if you have any other trucks or SUVS in the household, it may work with those as well. They're very easy to install. Let's go ahead and show you how we did that.

So I'm here on the driver's side of my RAV4. To get this installed we'll need to, first, make sure that each one of our tabs is pulled out . that way we can easily fit it into our housing. Once we got it set, we can turn it back over and set it in place. Now, I'm just gonna center my mirror up with my factory mirror, then I can hold it in place with one hand and then, run my straps on the back side. Now when you run your straps, you wanna make sure that the rubber pad is gonna contour the back of the mirror.

We're gonna take the plastic strap, hook it like so, on top. And then, we're gonna repeat the same process with the hook on the bottom. With it in place, come up to my ratchet, lift up the cover, and begin ratcheting it down. Just get it to where it's nice and tight. And we can repeat the same process with the second strap. And we're ready to tow.And that's gonna complete our test fit on the K-Source universal clip-on towing mirror, on our 2018 Toyota RAV4.
