How to Install the K Source Clip-on Towing Mirror on a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to be doing a test fit on the K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror, part number KS3891. It offers us a wide field view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a small trailer or camper. As you can see I'm visible in the towing mirror but not the factory mirror. Now if I take a few steps in towards my trailer you can see there's no blind spots with the way we have it set up, but this is the view you get with just the factory mirror. The mirror itself can be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down, diagonal, and side to side.

By removing the phillips head screw from the back we can take the mirror out, turn it to the horizontal position for a different view. With the way that it attaches the four clips are not going to interfere with the operation or movement of our factory mirror, and we can even still fold it in. Here on the back side it uses two ratchet straps to hold it in place. The nice thing about them being ratchet is you're going to get that extra tight, snug, secure fit. They also feature rubber pads here so we don't have to worry about them harming the finish of our mirror. A few great things about this towing mirror are is that it's for temporary use, so if you're not towing you can just simply take it off.

One other great thing is if you have any other trucks, SUVs, or Jeeps in the family, it may fit those as well. Now the mirror does come in a quantity of one so if you'd like to pick one up for the passenger side, just use the same part number. Now I'll show you how easy it is to get installed. I'm here on the driver's side of my Wrangler Unlimited. To begin our test fit let's go ahead and turn our mirror over. We've got four tabs here, we just need to make sure those are pulled out just enough so we can easily clip it onto our housing.

With them all in the loosened up position, let's go ahead and turn it back over and set it in place. Now I'm just going to center it up with my mirror here. We'll set the bottom in place and then we'll line up the top. Then we can hold it in place and run our straps on the back side. Now when we run our straps, we're going to make sure that the rubber pad here contours the back of the mirror. We're going to put it on in this direction.

We'll take that hook on top, clip it in place, and then stretch out the rubber strap on bottom, and hook it the exact same way. Then we'll make sure the mirror is still in the same spot that we want it. We'll come up to our cover and then begin ratcheting it down. Once we get it nice and secure, we'll close up our cap and repeat the same process for the second strap. Now when we're all done and we want to release the tension, underneath our cap here we've got a little button. By depressing that it allows us to guide that strap out so we can easily take it off, but for right now let's go ahead and hook it in place. Just going to help it along here while I ratchet it down. Then we're all set, we're ready to tow. It's not going anywhere. That's going to complete our test fit on the K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror, part number KS3891 on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
