How to Install the K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror on a 2017 Acura MDX

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2017 Acura MDX, we're going to be doing a test on the Ksource universal clip on towing mirror. It's available in a quantity of one with part number KS3891. You can also get it as a paid with part number KS3891-2. It offers us a wide field of view, it's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a trailer or camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror, but not the factory mirror. Now, if I take a few steps in toward my trailer, as you can see, there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up, but this is the view you get with just your factory mirror. The four clips are not going to interfere with the operation or movement of our factory mirror, and we can even still fold it in.The mirror itself is adjustable to most angles.

We've got our up and down, diagonal, and side to side. If we remove the Philips head screw from the backside of the mirror, we can take the mirror out, and turn it to that horizontal position for a different view. Here on the backside, it uses two ratchet straps to hold it in place. The nice thing about the ratchet style is you're going to get that extra tight, snug fit, and both ratchets feature a large rubber pad, so you don't have to worry about them harming or scratching the finish of that mirror. Here, you can see that the straps don't completely cover up our turn signal, so we're still going to have full use of that.A couple great things about this towing mirror are, for one, it's for temporary use, so we can take it off when we're done towing. Another great thing is since it is universal, if you have any other trucks or SUVs in the household, it's probably going to work with those as well. Now we'll show you how easy it is to install.

So I'm here in the driver's side of my MDX. To begin inaudible 00:01:39 we'll first want to make sure that our tabs are all pulled out so we can easily fit it around our mirror. Once we've got them all out and ready to go, we can set it in place. Now, the tab needs to go between our housing and our mirror. Once we've got them all in place, we can run our straps on the back side. Now, when we run our straps, we want to be sure that the rubber pad here is going to contour the back side of the mirror, so we're going to put it on in this direction.

We'll take the plastic portion of the strap, connect it to that top tab. We'll take the bottom rubber portion of the strap and connect it to the bottom tab.Once they're both connected, we can come up to our ratchet, and begin ratcheting it down. We can adjust our strap how we want, finish ratcheting it up, and then repeat the same process with our second strap. With both of our ratchet straps installed, we can adjust our mirror how we want, and we're ready to tow. That's going to complete our test bit on the Ksource universal clip on towing mirror on our 2017 Acura MDX.
