How to Install the K-Source Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors on a 2018 Toyota Highlander

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting K Source's dual lens universal towing mirrors, part number KS3990. And as you can see here, I'm clearly visible in our factory mirror, but as I take a step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible in the factory mirror, but I can be seen in our universal towing mirror. This is particularly useful when merging onto the highway, changing lanes, or during parking maneuvers. Each lens is adjustable both vertically and horizontally, and each lens has a unique characteristic. This one's going to be flat, so it's going to give you a more accurate representation of what's behind you, and this mirror's convex, so it's going to give you a wider field of view. Now, you do want to remember that things in a convex mirror may be closer than they appear. While your mirror's installed, you can still adjust your factory mirror in all directions.

You can still use the breakaway function and the mirror won't contact the body. The mirror's secured using two ratcheting straps. Each ratcheting strap has a large rubber pad that'll help keep it snug in place and prevent any scratches or abrasions on the backside of your mirror. And while your mirror's installed, you'll still have full visibility of your mirror marker. You could also move this from one vehicle to another if you have multiple vehicles you use for towing. We'll begin our installation by aligning the hooks onto our mirror.

We'll then bring the straps around the back side and clip the hooks on the end of the strap into the loop on the top arm. If you need to loosen it, you can just press in on this lever here to pull it out. Then to tighten it you just push the ratcheting straps down, and then you can use the ratcheting arm to snug it down tight. Once they're both tight, you can close the back block and repeat the same procedure on the other side. And that completes our test fit of K Source's dual lens towing mirrors on our 2018 Toyota Highlander..
