How to Install a the K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror on a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander

Ryan: Hey, everybody. Ryan here at etrailer. Stay on our 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the K-Source Universal Fit Towing Mirror, which is also sold as a set. So, whenever we use a towing mirror, it's really going to help expand our field of view. And that can really be handy whenever we're making a lane change, backing up into a tight parking spot, or maybe just want to keep a closer eye on what's going on behind us.

So, to give you an example on how much more ground we're going to be able to cover, so you can see, I'm visible in our towing mirror, but not in our factory mirror. But if I start to take a few steps closer to our trailer, I'll disappear out of that towing mirror and become visible in our factory mirror. And that's really going to help eliminate them blind spots as well. So this mirror does fit nice and tight and snug against the factory housing. And many of our customers said actually, even at higher speeds and over bumps, they don't get any vibration at all. And I could definitely agree with them.

Just how it sets, if you do move it around, you could see it's actually going to move that whole factory mirror around with it. So, you shouldn't have to worry about any of those problems. Our factory mirror is still going to be able to be adjusted as well. Go from top to bottom, side to side, we still have a ton of range of motion. There is a little bit of contact at the very end of the sweeps, but we're still able to maintain all those typical sweet spots that we would usually use. Now, if you do need to squeeze into your tight parking spot and need to free up a little bit of space, you can fold your mirror in, there is a little bit of contact there, but for the most part, you'll be able to get it completely in. The straps that actually hold the towing mirror on, are really heavy duty and do a great job, keeping everything nice and tight.

There's also going to be some rubber feet if you will, that way we don't have to worry about our mirror's paint getting damaged or scratched. The towing mirror lens itself is going to be completely adjustable, side to side, up and down. You can even rotate it 360 degrees if you need to. So, you'll be able to find a spot that works great for you. Now since these are universal, chances are pretty good too if you happen to have another vehicle in the household, that they're probably going to work with it. And since they are so easy to put on and take off, it's not a big deal or a big hustle to switch them around, if you need to.

Speaking of which let's go ahead and put one on together now.To get the mirror installed, what you're going to do, is simply take these tabs and line them up with the factory housing. Find that good flat spot where you want the same mirror to rest. You hold it in place with one hand and come around to the other side. From there, you'd simply take these tabs and loop them into the clips there. We can push down on the ratchet strap to take out some of that slack. And then if you need to these actually ratchet, so you can crank down on them once or twice to eliminate all the slack that's in it. So, once you have it nice and secure, you'd simply repeat that same process over on the other side, if you picked up a set. And that'll finish up our look at and our installation of the K-Source Universal Fit Towing Mirror on our 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander..
