How to Install the K-Source Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors on a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander

Hey everybody, Ryan here at e.trailer. Today on our 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the K-Source Universal Fit Dual Lens Towing Mirror. The towing mirror is really going to help expand our field of view. That can be especially useful whenever we're making a lane change, backing up into a tight parking spot, or maybe just wanting to keep a closer eye on what's going on behind us. And since this towing mirror has dual lenses, you're able to get a couple of different looks at it, a couple of different angles, so that can really come in handy sometimes. To give an example on how much more ground we are going to be able to cover, as you can see, I'm visible in our towing mirror, but not in our factory mirror. However, if I take a few steps closer to our trailer, I'll disappear out of that towing mirror and become visible in our factory mirror. That's really going to help eliminate any of those blind spots as well.I will say this mirror does fit nice and tight against the factory housing, and that's really important.

That's because you're not going to have to worry about any vibrations or rattling, especially at higher speeds. If I kind of grab the tow mirror and move it around, you can see it's actually going to move the whole factory mirror. So it really shouldn't give you any issues there. We're still going to be able to maintain pretty much full adjustability of our factory lens. You can go back and forth, side to side.

There will be a little bit of contact at the very end of each sweep, but we're still going to be able to maintain all those typical sweet spots that we would usually use. Now, if you do need to free up a little bit of space, whenever you're in a parking spot or something like that, your mirrors can still be folded in. There is a little bit of contact there at the very end, but for the most part, we can get them all the way folded to the side of our Outlander. These straps that actually hold the towing mirror in place are really heavy duty, reliable, so you're not going to have to worry about them wearing out over time. The feet do have some soft rubber on them so we're not going to damage our factory mirrors paint or finish. Since they come as a set, you're going to be able to have one on each side, which is always useful. Good news, since these are universal, if you do happen to have another vehicle in the household, chances are really good they're going to work with that too.

Since they are so easy to put on and take off, really not a huge deal if you do need to switch them around. Speaking of which, let's go ahead and put one on together now.To begin your install, what you're going to do is push the towing mirror flat against the factory mirror, and you want these tabs to fit underneath the factory mirror lens in the housing, so it will push up on here like this. This will kind of sneak in there and you can get it where you want it, where it's nice and flat. Hold it in place with one hand and move around to the other side. So then what we can do is grab our straps and those little tabs there simply go inside of these openings.

This will clip on. What you can do is kind of push the slack out of the straps. Once you're snug, you can ratchet them down a couple of times to get everything nice and tight. Then you'd simply just repeat the same process over on the other side of the car. That will finish up our look at and our installation of the K-Source Universal Fit Dual Lens Towing Mirrors on our 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander..
