Review of the Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier on a 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're gonna be test fitting the Malone SeaWing kayak carrier and Stinger load assist with tie downs, part number MPG113MD. The SeaWing kayak carrier and Stinger load assist enable you to carry up to one kayak or canoe on the top of your roof rack. You have enough space on the other side to carry an addition kayak if need be or a rooftop bike rack. It comes with all the tie downs necessary to secure this to your roof, including the kayak straps here, which do have this material underneath our buckle here to protect the hull of your boat. Of course, it also comes with the bow and stern tie downs as well. These are V-shaped saddle style carriers.

These are padded again to protect the hull of your kayak and the Stinger load assist does have this V block to help the guide the boat into place once you're installing it. It is also padded along the bottom side of it to protect the roof of your vehicle as well.Right now, we have the Stinger pushed in all the way and it is secured with these knobs, one here and one on the passenger side. To load or unload it, you'd loosen these up and push this all the way out to help guide the boat into place. To retract it, we'll loosen up our knobs here. We'll move it all the way out and then we'll re-tighten the turn knobs just so it doesn't move around on us here.

As we pull it out, you can see when it does make contact with our roof here, the padding is actually gonna help out and keep it from damaging the roof. You can also see how it makes loading much easier as well. How these actually attach to your roof rack, we're going to have these jaws universal mounts here that'll wrap around with these two turn knobs and these will also fit around not only the arrow that you see here, but also square round elliptical and most factory style roof racks. At the top, you can see the padding, which is gonna help protect your kayak. There you have it for the Malone SeaWing kayak carrier and Stinger load assist on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner.
