How to Install the Pollak 4-Pole Round Pin Socket on a 2007 Jeep Liberty

Today on our 2007 Jeep Liberty we'll be installing the Pollak 4-Way connector. Part number PK11410. As you'll see on this particular vehicle there was already a 4-way flat installed on the front. We're going to need to remove that 4-flat, just leaving the four wires, the yellow, the green, the brown, and the white. This particular vehicle also already has the Blue Ox Face Plate, part number BX1122 installed on it so we'll be connecting the four pin connector to the base plate using the base plate's hardware, the spacer block, as well as the screws, the lock washers, the nuts, as well as the self-tapping screws that hold it to the base plate. To wire this you'll need to go ahead and remove the center screw off the top of the 4-round. You'll then pull the center section out.

You will notice that there are four pins as well as four areas with small screws on the back where we'll be connecting the wire. When you pull this out you want to notice how it's oriented. There's a small dimple on the top which will line up with the screw. For the wiring diagram, when you're looking at it from the top, facing it, the top left will have the yellow wire put to it, which is the left side turn and brake. The top right will have the green which is the right side, or passenger side, turn and brake.

The lower right will have the brown wire connected to it which is the tail light or running lights. The lower left will have the white wire connected to it which is the ground wire. Remember, this is with you facing it and with the latch lifted in the up position, as well as the center section, that you just removed, with the small dimple where the screw holds it in place will be at the top. With that we'll go ahead and wire our plug. Remember, before you do any of the wiring you'll need to fish the wires through the rear of the plug housing. Once all four of your wires are connected securely go ahead and slide the center section back into the housing properly and put the set screw back in place.

Now with that in place we'll go ahead and use our screw, our lock washer, and our nut, as well as the length fasteners to connect it to our base plate. After we have the adapters connected to the plug we will use our self-tapping screws to connect it to the base plate. Once we have it secured we'll go ahead and use a couple wire ties to secure any extra wire that we may have. That'll complete the installation of the Pollack 4-Way Connector, part number PK11410 on our 2007 Jeep Liberty. .
