How to Install the Reese Elite Series Pop-In Ball Kit on a 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Hey everybody Clayton here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out the Reese elite pop-in gooseneck ball kit for our 2020 Ford F150. Now upgrading to this ball kit is going to be really nice. I like how the ball sits nice and low and I really like these safety chain loops when you compare them to the Curt. However, I definitely like the Curt gooseneck ball a lot better, I'll explain that in here in a minute. This is going to be designed to work with your OEM prep package.

So you're not going to have to worry about that. This is going to be a good upgrade from any factory stuff you might have or if you're just looking to switch things up this is a great option to consider. Now, the reason that I prefer the Curt ball over this Reese is simply because of the locking mechanism. The Curt locking tab is all metal so that it seems a lot stronger in my opinion. I could see this getting worn down over time.

You just want to make sure that your coupler is clean. But what we do is we pull this out and that's going to loosen up our ball bearings and then we can just drop this right into our hitch and we'll just turn that on the side and now it's locked in place. And the reason that I prefer Reese safety chain hooks is they just are a little bit slicker than the Curt option. They sit nice and flush to our bed. As far as getting these mounted it's going to be super simple.

We're just going to line this opening up with the opening and our hole, just like that. Then we can turn it, these tabs will drop down. Now it's locked into place and not going anywhere. Our ball is going to be a standard two and five sixteenths inch ball. It is going to have a 30,000 pound weight capacity.

You want to keep in mind you need to check with your owner's manual and make sure that your Ford is capable of towing at those capacities. If it's not always go with the lowest number. I really like this kit because it does come with a rubber cover for our gooseneck hole and it's going to come with a carry case. So you can throw all of your components in there when you're not using it and just store it under your backseat, whenever you need it it's ready to go. That being said, that's going to do it for our look at the Reese elite series drop-in gooseneck ball kit for our 2020 Ford F-150..
