How to Install the Reese Elite Series Pop-In Ball Kit on a 2015 Ford F-350

Today in our 2015 Ford F350 Superduty, we will review and install the Elite Series Pop-in Ball Kit for manufacturer install underbed gooseneck hitches. Part number RP30137. Now here's what our pop-in ball and safety chain hold downs will look like once they are installed. The ball itself is a two and five sixteenths ball, with a thirty thousand pound tow capacity. The ball has an integrated lock, that will you to simply put it in, or take it out of the underbed mounted gooseneck hitch. The lock itself is two D10 balls that will go in when it's in the unlock position, and come out and lock in the lock position, holding it in the gooseneck throat.

The ball and body, along with the D10 balls, is a nice, polished chrome, to resist rust and corrosion over time. Our chain holddowns is a nice steel construction, with a black power-coated finish. It's got a built-in lock, a simply pull up, twist, and remove from the pop system. Re-installing is as simple as lining it up, putting it in place, and twisting to lock, and hold in to the underbed mounted gooseneck hitch. Supplied with out kit is a nice carrying bag. We can simply take out chain holddowns, drop them into the bag, along with our ball, close up this in-strap, then we can store it out of the weather, when it's not in use. Now, let's go ahead and show you how to install it.

To begin our install, we'll need to remove the manufacturers mount covers. Using a flat-bed screwdriver, we can just get under the cover, and remove it. Each of our three attachment points, has a manufacturers cover on it. We'll go ahead, and remove all three covers. Now we'll go ahead and pull the three pieces that we need out of our carrying case.

This is our gooseneck ball. At the top of the ball is the lock, that will pull up and rotate, unlocking our D10 balls, so we can drop it right down into our mount and lock it into place. For our safety chain holddown, we'll simply take the holddown, line it up with the manufacturers mount, rotate it until the lock falls into place. Now to remove our safety chain holddown, we'll simply pull up on the lock, rotate and remove. When we are finished using our gooseneck ball to remove it, we'll pull up on the lock, rotate it to the unlock position, and pull it out of the mount. We can then install the manufacturers mount cover or our provided Reese Elite Cover.

Now with everything installed, we're ready to hit the road. That will do it for the install of the Elite Series pop-in ball kit, for the underbed mounted gooseneck system, part number RP30137 on our 2015 Ford F350 SuperDuty. .
