Review of the Road Comfort Front and Rear Floor Mats on a 2017 Honda CR-V

Rob: Hey everybody. It's Rob here at etrailer.com. And today we're going to be taking a look at the Road Comfort Auto Floor Liners for the front and rear on our 2017 Honda CRV. Now, everybody wants to keep the inside of their CRV clean and the carpet's no different. Now, a lot of times we use our CRV for a lot of different things, use it to get around, but as we leave our car and get back in, we ended up tracking a lot of stuff whether it's dirt, rain, water, snow, whatever it is, it ends up getting on the carpet. And then we ended up having to clean it, spending a lot of time.

Well, I don't know about you, but I really don't want to spend that much time cleaning the carpet. I'd rather be out doing the things I want to do. And our Road Comforts are going to make sure we don't have to spend that much time because it is going to trap all that dirt on the mat and keep it off the carpet. And our mats are a custom fit design. So you can see that they follow the floorboard contours perfectly and they lay really nice and flat. We're not going to worry about any of those mats that kind of buckle up, start folding and just getting in the way.

I really like the reinforced heel pad here. You can see it has a little bit extra material there, so it's a little bit thicker and softer. And that's right where your feet are going to be, whether you're reaching for the pedals or just resting your foot. And you see that there's ribs and channels and the ribs are going to elevate your feet up so they're not sitting in that standing water if there happens to be any water from your shoes. And the channels are going to help divert all that away from your feet.

Now, here in the driver's side, we have the factory anchor points that are already built into our Honda. So it's nice that we can still use them. Now, that's definitely going to help hold the mat in place, but on the bottom side, we also have these nibs. These are going to dig down in the carpet and really make sure the mat stays still. We're not going to have to worry about it shifting around on us, whether we're getting in or out. Now, over here on the passenger side we can see that our mat's going to have a very similar design.

We'll still have those ribs and channels, and it is going to contour around the floor perfectly. Now this mat, you can see it goes well underneath our glove box. So even if our passengers want to stretch their feet out, we're still going to have protection for the carpet. And we don't have to worry about the contaminants getting on there. Now, the road comfort set does come as a full set.So it does include the mats for the rear as well. Now, again, these are going to go underneath the seat. So again, we got really good coverage. The only thing that I do say is a downside to these mats is the center section here. We don't have any protection for the center. So if you have a passenger in the middle or just any kind of kids usually make a lot of a bit of a mess in the back seat. We don't have any kind of protection for the center, but the mats on the side and the floorboards are still going to be protected. Now, one thing I will say that a lot of customers like about these mats is the fact that they're odor free. They are made out of a rubberized thermoplastic, but they don't have that plastic or rubber smell that a lot of floor mats have. And also I like the fact that they're really soft. A lot of times, those all weather mats can be extremely stiff. And it's almost like a giant sheet of plastic. Once they're in, it's not that bad, but taking them out and even getting them in can be a hassle just because we can't really bend them. But our Road Comforts bend extremely easy and you can see how easy it is to pull them out or slide them in place. Now, obviously the mats are going to get dirty because if they're keeping all the dirt and debris off the carpet, it's going to be on the mat. So if you have a small mess, you can typically just take a damp rag, wipe it up. But if you have a really big mess and you want to get a deep clean on your mats. You can simply pull them out, hose them down with some mild soap and water, let them air dry, and then we can put them back in our CRV. But again, I'm Rob here at etrailer.com and that'll finish up your look at the Road Comfort Auto Floor Liners for the front and rear on our 2017 Honda CRV.
