Review of the Swagman Hitch Bike Racks on a 2004 Gulf Stream BT Cruiser Motorhome

Today on our 2004 Gulfstream BT Cruiser we're going to be doing a test fit on the Swagman Dispatch platform-style 2-bike rack for RVs. That's part number S64684. It's specifically designed to work with RVs because there are limited moving parts. It secures our bikes in place with three points of contact. We have this padded frame hook going over our to tube, putting down pressure into our front and wheel cradles. Then we've got a strap going over our wheel in the front and in the rear. To remove our bike we'll first undo our front and rear wheel straps.

Going to press in on the little tab and guide that strap out. Then we'll come over to our hook. To raise them up, we'll push in on the button. We'll raise our front one out of the way first and then our second one. Then we can just take our bike off. Now the nice thing about this bike rack is it could be used on your vehicle as well.

The one moving part is the center mast. It folds down by pulling up here, so we can easily gain access to our rear hatch. Let's go ahead and take a few measurements. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost point of the rack is about 33". For the space between our bumper and our rack, our closest point that is, it's going to be about 5".

Finally, for our ground clearance underneath, it's going to be about 13". Now our bike rack is designed to be used with 2" by 2" receivers only. That's what we've got here. The anti-rattle bolt and lock is included. The nice thing about the anti-rattle bolt is it's going to help reduce any play or any rattle we might have within our receiver and our bike rack to make a nice solid ride for our two bikes. That's going to complete our test fit on the Swagman Dispatch platform-style 2-bike rack for RVs, part number S64684, on our 2004 Gulfstream BT Cruiser. This is our test course.

Let's start with the slalom. This shows side to side action such as turning corners or evasive maneuvering. Then onto our alternating speed bumps. This shows twisting action such as hitting curbs, potholes, road debris, or uneven pavement. Last of all, the speed bumps. This shows up and down action such as driving through a parking lot or parking garage, or driving in and out of a driveway.
