Review of the Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack on a 2003 Honda CR-V

Today in the studio, we have a 2003 Honda CR-V and we're going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Bike Carrier, part number TH934XTR. To mount our bike carrier to the vehicle, we'll insert the shank into the receiver tube. We'll line up the hitch pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. Once we've done that, we'll check for rear vehicle access. We'll pull the pin at the base of the bike rack and tilt it down then we'll open the cargo door of our CR-V and make sure we can still access our cargo area. We can't quite open the door all the way, but we can still get access to our cargo area.

With that done, we'll put the bike rack back up and take some clearance measurements. We've got 13 inches of ground clearance from the lowest part of our bike rack to the ground. We've got about 5 inches of clearance in between the spare tire and our bike rack and we've added about 13 inches of overall length behind the spare tire. Now, we're ready to load up the bike. We'll remove the pin at the top of the bike carrier, fold the arms out, and re-secure the pin.

Then we'll open the cradles on the bike carrier closest to the vehicle, take up our bike, and set it in to the cradles. We'll use those rubber straps to secure the frame of the bike and the cradles. And with that, our bike is all loaded up and we're ready to go. That's it for our test fit of the Thule Hitching Post, part number TH934XTR on our 2003 Honda CR-V.
