Here's what our hitch will look like once installed. Next, go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch, such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper, it's 3.5 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 22.25 inches. Now, go ahead with the installation. We're going to go ahead and lower and remove the spare time to make it easier to install the new hitch. All right, now we can go ahead and point out the attachment points.

We have a total of eight attachment points, four on each side. You can see the pre-drilled holes in the frame by the manufacturer. At each of these attachment points, we're going to use a carriage bolt and block that will go down through the frame. Then we'll put the hitch in place, and secure it with a flange nut. To help distribute the weight of the hitch, I'll move it towards the middle, here on this side, and the middle on the other side. Then it's a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you hold the hitch while you install your flange nut to hold it in place. Now, as we install the fasteners, we'll install each one finger tight until we have them all in the place.

Now that we've got one on each side holding our hitch in position, we'll go ahead and put the rest of our hardware in place. Again, we'll take the carriage bolt and block, put it down the pre-drilled hole in the frame and into the hitch. Thread on the flange nut. Keep in mind that the attachment points and hardware on the passenger side are identical to the driver's side, so each process we do here on one side will get repeated identically on the opposite side. Now, with all the hardware in place, we're going tighten it down. With our hardware tightened down, we can go ahead and torque to specifications as indicated in the instructions.

Now that everything's tightened down and torqued to specifications, we're ready to hit the road. That does it for the install of the Curt class 5 2.5 inch receiver tube hitch part number C15810 on our 1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty. .
