How to Install a Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2011 Honda Odyssey

Today on this 2011 Honda Odyssey were going to install part number 118521 from Tow Ready. The first thing you need to get inside the vehicle. All right. Now you have to take the seats and get them out of our way. I like to remove the threshold right here. We remove this fastener here and theres one on the other side.

Well just put some paper towel over it and grab it with some pliers and just unbolt it. Now the snap fittings underneath here weve just got to pop them up a little bit to break them free. Theres also some fittings on the inside underneath as well.Well need access to the fuse panel, which is right here, so well remove the lid. Were also going to need access behind the whole panel as well, so well go ahead and unbolt this fastener, and just pop it out just a little bit. Were going to take our T1 connector with the white end. Were going to route it underneath the plastic and up to your fuse panel.

If the vehicle is equipped with a sensory backup sensors, well unplug the sensor harness 14-pin connector from the rear fuse box connector, and then plug the backup sensor harness into the other mating T connector end. In this case we dont have to worry about that. Well plug it straight into the fuse panel. Next well go ahead and hook up our white wire. Well be using the ground stud thats located toward the back door in the corner underneath the taillight on the drivers side. With this inaudible 0:01:28:3 connector well actually install the module.

It will hide its whole assembly behind the plastic. Route this behind this first. Leave a four pull hanging out underneath the plastic and then from the other side well install the module. Well just attach it to the sheet metal on either side.Next we need to install some fuses that come with the kit. Well start with a 10-amp fuse and well install it into the rear fuse box in position number eight.

Position number two and 11 also get fuses. This will be number 11 right here. At this point we can go ahead and test our wiring with a wire tester at the four pull end, make sure everything works. Were going to go head and reinstall all the interior components. When you put the interior components together make sure your wire stays on the inside and into the well here. Thats where it will stay when youre not using it. It also looks like you can actually take the wires and you can have room back here you can possibly tuck them all inside and store a four pull right here. When you do need to use it, just pull it out, pull it up to your hitch and shut the hatch on it. Just make sure you stay away from the center latch so it doesnt get pinched. inaudible 0:02:57:8 right here and shut the hatch. Then you pull out what you need down to your trailer. With that, thatll finish our install of part number 118521 from Tow-Ready on our 2011 Honda Odyssey.
