How to Install the Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2015 GMC Terrain

Speaker 1: Today on a 2015 GMC Terrain, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wire harness for factory tow package. With a four pole flat trailer connector.Part number 118264.So here's what our wiring is going to look like. It is going to provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector giving us our tail lights, turn signals and our brake lights. And it is going to stay on the inside of the vehicle until we're ready to use it. And whenever we are ready to tow, we can simply drop our wire down through the back hatch. Just want to make sure you stay away from the actual latch itself and the weather stripping on here will provide enough cushion where the wires won't get crushed by the hatch. Then we can lower the hatch door and our wires will be right by our hitch so we can hook up.

And whenever we're done, we can bundle our wires up, lift up our floor covering and we can store them right here by our spare tire. As far as installation goes it's going to be extremely easy, we're just going to have one plug that's going to be right towards the driver's side of the very back of our hatch area. Then we're going to plug our harness in and that's all we're going to have to worry about. So now that we've seen what our wiring looks like, let's show you how to get it installed. In order to get our wiring plugged in we're going to have to find the connector that's going to match the one on our harness. So if we lift up the floor covering at the back here then we come to the driver's side right behind the foam, just to the outside, there's going to be a gray connector on the inside. Now we don't need to pull it out but if we take our connector, we'll be able to line it up and plug it in.

Just reach in there, make sure you have your connector lined up, you're going to push it in until it locks into place. Just give it a gentle tug to make sure it's locked in and then whenever we're not towing, we can store our wiring back here. Now before we put everything back, I'm going to plug in my four pole tester so I can make sure everything's working. And if you need one of these, you can pick one up at using part number I26. So if I turn my headlights on, we can see that it's working along with my left turn signal, right turn signal and our brakes. So now we can hook up to our trailer and hit the road.

That will finish up your look at the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness for factory tow package with a four pole flat trailer connector, part number 118264 on our 2015 GMC Terrain.
