How to Install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness on a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Today on our 2016 Land Rover Range Rover, we're gonna be installing Curt's T-Connector four pole vehicle wiring harness. Part number C56293.And this is what our wiring is gonna look like when it's installed. It easily attaches behind your panel and the excess just hangs out below and you can secure it to your receiver using the included dust cap. The dust cap also keeps out dirt and debris ensuring a lon-lasting connection. This connector is gonna provide you with all the necessary lighting you need for your trailer, this includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps. So you will be DOT compliant in all states. We'll begin our installation by removing our appearance panel.

We use a flat bladed screwdriver to release the latches on each side. Once you've got those released you can simply pull your panel down and set it aside. Behind your panel you're gonna see two connectors, we're gonna be using the one closest to the center of the vehicle that has six pins. You want to remove the dummy plug by pressing in on the release tab here and pulling the plug off.Now it's just as easy as plugging it in. We can then install our ground wire.

We're gonna use the screw located right next to our connector to get that installed. We'll use a 10 millimeter socket to remove the screw. Slide it through our terminal and then simply bolt it back down. We'll now take the four pole end and we're gonna feed it down behind our appearance panel and put it next to our hitch. We can then slide the dust cover on and the dust cover can be used to secure it to your safety chain loop right there.Simply wrap it around and plug it in.

We can now reinstall our appearance panel, just line the tabs back up and put it back in place. And we use our flat bladed screwdriver to tighten the latches back down. And now all you need to do is plug it in and test it out. You could use your trailer or you could pick up a tester like we have here found here at etrailer.comYou want to make sure you have your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps. And with everything working properly we're ready to hit the road.

And that completes our installation of Curt's T-Connector four pole vehicle wiring harness on our 2016 Land Rover Range Rover.
