Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 GMC Acadia, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the T1 vehicle wiring harness for factory tow package with seven-way trailer connector, part number 118276.In order to help us get this installed, we're gonna be using the Pollak mounting bracket and installation hardware for seven pole RV style trailer connector, part number PK12711U. That's gonna give us a seven way connector at the back, which is gonna give us all of our lights, taillights, turn signals, brake lights, and also it's gonna give us our brake signal if we decide to put our brake controller in as well. It's gonna include a spring loaded dust cover with a nice weather seal around the edge on the inside to keep all the moisture and debris from getting into our connector. In order for us to get our wiring in place, we are gonna have to have the factory tow package on our vehicle, which we're gonna be using some factory connections points. Now that we've seen what it looks like, let's go ahead and show you how to get it installed. To begin our installation, we're gonna need to find the factory tow package wiring, which if we come to the driver's side and we just look directly up, right behind our bumper, we're gonna have two connectors that we're gonna find. Both of these are the connectors we're gonna need to use, so I'm gonna go ahead and start pulling the wires off of the tabs holding them in place, that way I can bring them down and make them a little bit easier to work with.
You just pull them off. There are just some studs right here with plastic retainers. The one up top, we should be able to slide it. Pull the tab and it'll release it, allowing it to come down past our hitch.Starting with the gray one, we're gonna find a red tab on there and we're gonna slide it back and push down on the button. It'll release the cover for the dummy plug.
Move over to the black one. We're not gonna have a lock. We're gonna find a tab right there. We're gonna push down on that tab and the cover should come off as well.We can go ahead and grab our harness. I'm gonna take a little bit of dielectric grease and put it inside my connectors.
This is gonna help cut back on the corrosion and hopefully keep any moisture from building up inside. If you need to pick up some dielectric grease, you can pick some up on our website using part number 11755. We'll line up the connectors, plugging them in, making sure they lock into place. Then with the gray one, you're just gonna want to make sure you put that red tab back into the locked position. With our connections made, we can go ahead and put our hook back over the studs and put the wiring back in place. With our connections made, I'm gonna go ahead and take my seven-way bracket.
I'm gonna drop my hardware in place, lining up the holes and secure my bracket to my hitch with the star nuts on the bottom. I'm gonna take my seven-way connector, slide it into position and take the provided hardware and start pushing it through and securing it down with the nuts on the back side. I'm gonna repeat that until we've got all four screws and nuts in place. Before I plug the back of my connector in, I'm gonna put a little bit more dielectric grease on there. Then we can line up our connector, plug it in, make sure it locks into place. Just gonna take a few zip ties and I'm gonna tie my wiring up to some existing wiring behind the bumper. That way it's not visible, and it's not gonna rattle around. With all of our connections made, I'm gonna go ahead and plug in my tester and make sure that all my lights are working properly. Okay, and the headlights please. Looks good. Left turn signal. Right turn signal. Brakes and both turn signals with the brakes applied please. Alright, with everything looking good, we're ready to hit the road. That'll finish up our look at the T1 vehicle wiring harness for factory tow package with seven-way trailer connector, part number 118276 on our 2017 GMC Acadia.
