Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Installation - 2017 GMC Acadia

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 GMC Acadia, we're gonna be installing Curt's 7-Way Trailer Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, Part Number: C56326. This 7-pole connector wiring harness is gonna give you all of your necessary lighting, which includes your left turn, right turn, tail lamps, and brake lamps. It's also gonna give you a charge line to go back to your trailer to charge it's batteries if it has batteries. It's also wired for a brake controller. So, if you install a brake controller in your vehicle, you'll have that back here at your 7-pole connector. The 7-pole connector has a spring loaded door. Inside the door, you'll find a seal.

This rubber seal is gonna keep out any dirt, debris, and moisture. So, this way it automatically keeps itself latched shut when you're not using it, keeping out that dirt and debris for a long lasting connection, and when you're ready to use it, you simply flip it up, plug in, and you're ready to go.This wiring harness is gonna plug directly into your vehicle's factory connectors. Now that we've gone over some of the features, let's show you how to get it installed. The best time to install your vehicle wiring harness is during your hitch installation. That way you're already gonna have components removed to make it easier to get to it.

We'll show you, as well, afterwards, how to access it without removing the stuff for your hitch. You'll find your vehicle wiring harness located here behind your fascia, and there's another connector here that you'll need to complete your 7-pole connection. Now, you'll notice in both of these, there's a dummy plug. So, we'll need to remove those in order to plug in our wiring. For the larger connector, simply push in on the tab and pull out the dummy plug and set that aside. For your smaller connector, you wanna push the locking tab over, press in on the release tab, and pull it out. We'll plug our new vehicle wiring harness in.

I've routed it behind our bumper beam here. Plug each end into our factory wiring, make sure it clicks into place, and now push our locking tab back over. We'll now mount our 7-way connector. Now you will need to get a bracket in order to mount this. We're using one here from Pollak that you can pick up here at etrailer.com.

We've got our attached to our hitch. The bracket does come with some self tapping screws, so you can mount it anywhere you like. We'll slide our 7-way connector in there. We use the screws that come with our bracket, and slide those through, and place a nut on the back side. We'll repeat this for the three remaining holes, and we'll tighten them down with a flat bladed screwdriver. Then simply plug in the 7-pole connector end from your harness into your connector. We can zip tie up our wiring, and we're ready to hit the road. Now that everything's plugged up, this is a great time to test it before you reinstall your fascia. You wanna make sure that you have your left turn, right turn, tail lamps, and brake lamps. You'll notice on the top right that we're getting out 12 volt power supply back there on our charge line. Now if you've already had your hitch installed and you're adding your wiring later, don't worry. You don't need to remove your fascia. You can access it from underneath by reaching up right here, and now you can reach both of your connectors right from underneath the vehicle without having to remove the fascia. That completes our installation of Curt's Key Connector 7-Way Trailer Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness on our 2017 GMC Acadia.
