How to Install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness on a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado

Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today, you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to walk you through the installation on the Curt T Connector for factory wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector on a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado. If you already have a factory seven pole plug, but you don't have the four pole plug, this is going to work great.Again, it's going to connect directly into it, allow you to maintain the use of it. But, if you're like our vehicle here, don't have the factory seven pole plug, but you have factory wiring for a tow package, and you just need a four pole plug, this gives you that option also, but allows you to maybe add that seven pole plug later. It's going to allow all of your light signals from your factory wiring to be transferred over to your trailer so you can safely pull . Both turn signals, your brake lights, your running lights. Now that we've gone over some of the features, we'll show you how to get it installed.

If you have a factory seven pole plug on the back of the vehicle, this is just going to plug directly in line with that.If you don't have a factory plug, but you saw the factory wiring or tow package, you're just going to have a cap. What you're going to do is you're going to take this one end, you're going to plug it into the cap, and then you're going to take your other end, you're going to plug it into your factory wiring. You're going to route your four pole right over through your hitch, just like that, and you can bundle this up, and zip tie it up here out of the way. Now, you want a more permanent mounting location, there are some no drill mounting brackets so you can mount directly to the hitch, and this four pole plug will actually sit just like that. Now we'll test out our wiring using part number I26. Left turn, right turn, brake lights, running lights. Once you're done testing your wiring, you know everything's working correctly, you're ready to go.

Again, I'm Shane at etrailer.com. Hope this video has helped you, whether you're still deciding, or installing the Curt T connector for factory tow package wiring, four pole connection on your 2019 Chevrolet Colorado.
