Review of the Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount for two and a half inch hitches. It has a six inch drop and five and a quarter inch rise. Rated at twenty thousand pounds. Part number C45902. This heavy duty steel ball mount is adjustable and lets you tow with a two inch or two and five sixteenths hitch ball. With the two inch ball, it offers a ten thousand pound towing capacity, and with two and five sixteenths ball, you get a twenty thousand pound capacity.

Either way, it offers a two thousand pound tongue weight. It's adjustable in one inch increments and can easily be adjusted by removing the two pins, selecting your ball size and ball height and re-inserting the pins. The channel style mount allows you to attach other Curt accessories such as another ball mount or a pencil hook, and you can pick that up with part number C45920. Here at the back, it features an anti-rattle set screw that reduces a lot of the play and rattle within our hitch ball. Once we got our ball height set, we can tighten up that set screw, then we'll give it another shake.

I'm just using the included tool to do so. As you can see, once we got it tight, that rattle is gone. It features two hitch pin holes, you just use whatever works best for the application. The closest one to the center of the hitch ball is ten and three eighths. The furthest one to the center of the hitch ball is eleven and three eighths. It's made out of heavy duty steel construction with a black powder coat finish so it's going to resist rust and corrosion.

The ball and pins features a zinc-plating to resist corrosion. Now it's very easy to install. You can install in either rise or drop position, depending on your trailer height. We'll insert our shank, line up our pin holes, then we can take the included pin and clip, put that through and we've got it. If you'd like to further secure your ball mount, you can pick up a locking hitch pin.

DeadBolt makes one for the two and a half inch receiver and that's part number RH5-XL. That's going to complete our look at the Curt Adjustable 2-Ball Mount for two and a half inch hitches. It has a six inch drop and five and a quarter inch rise, rated at twenty thousand pounds. Part number C45902. .
