Review of the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch

Today we are going to be taking a look at the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm electric winch, Part Number DL25215. This winch is ideal for your marine applications. It will help take the strain out of loading and unloading your boat. It can also be used in utility trailer applications. It features a free spool clutch level, which is going to help prevent wear and tear on your winch motor. It is also going to help you quickly and easily hook it up to your boat or whatever application you might be working with. It features a 2-inch by 20-foot polyester strap.

At the end, we have a heavy gauge steel hook with a snap that we can ensure it doesn't become disconnected. It features a brushed stainless steel plate with a rolled edge on it, so it's going to help reduce a lot of the strain, stress, and friction on our strap as we are spooling in. It comes with a wiring harness to get it hooked up to your power source. However, you will need to provide your own mounting hardware. The StrongArm electric winch has a 3000 pound-rated line pull.

That can go up to 9000 pounds if your boat is in the water and you are using a set of high quality rollers. It's easy to operate with the toggle switch here on the side. Now, let's go ahead and put it to good use. We are indoors today, so we are not going to be working with a boat. We will go ahead and show you how to hook it up to our golf cart. So with it in free spool mode, we will make our way down to the cart.

We are just going to attach this to our shackle. If this was a boat, you would just simply attach it to your bow loop. Now let's re-engage our clutch, come up to our toggle switch, direct it towards the load, and we can start winching. The winch features dynamic and mechanical brakes for added strength and reliability, so you can see with our winch not in use, it is going to support a load. It will do the same for your boat. Now the winch is not meant to support your load during transport, so you will need to make sure and secure it down.

It features an emergency crank handle should you lose power. And that's going to complete our look at the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm electric winch, Part Number DL25215.
