Review of the etrailer 8 inch Long Trailer Hitch Extender

There are a lot of different reasons why we need to extend our hit receiver whether you're just trying to be able to fold up your cargo carrier maybe your bike rack won't even fit inside there with a spare tire or whatever the reason is. But also just for your towing, a lot of the times you run into issues like we have right here where this is pretty much unusable. And then even with our other one, it's also unusable. So here at etrailer we went through and addressed those problems. And we have a whole line of different extenders some four inch and a quarters some for two inch and some adapters as well. So regardless of what kind of hitch you may have and what vehicle you have we got you covered with our line of extenders and adapters.

This extender is the shortest of all the ones we offer on our line for your two inch hitch receiver. So a couple measurements that are gonna be pretty useful from the center of one hitch pin hole to the center of the other. It's a total of eight inches which is gonna be your overall amount of extension. You're gonna get on your hitch. And then from on our hitch receiver end from the center of our hitch pin hole to the end, it's about two inches.

And then from the hole right here at the center to the front face is two and a half inches. You insert it into your hitch just like any other accessory, I'm gonna line up that hole. And then a pin and clip does not come with this but you do want to get a five ACE inch diameter pin. One thing that I suggest you get, as you can hear and see there's a lot of movement right here. I don't want to hear it nor do I want my accessories to feel it.

So we did design a little anti rattle device. Since these extenders have a solid shank. We're not able to put any other type of anti-rattle device on there. So with this one that we designed for your two inch hitches you just put a washer down, lock washers down And we have the nuts that go on top and notice how the little curve X section is down on the accessory. So you get that down and then all you need to tighten this down is a three quarter inch socket.

And we do want to tighten these down somewhat evenly the best we can. So I usually just get it somewhat tight on one side and then go to the other side. Doesn't take a whole lot of time. Once you put this thing on especially on a vehicle like this where pretty much any accessory needs an extender, that doesn't take a whole lot of time to set it up. And I typically just leave it on here. So just like that. We went from rattle rattle to no rattle at all. So I highly suggest grabbing this. This one being the smallest of the two inch extenders. If you do have a vehicle that has a spare tire I think this is gonna be the best one for you. It's not too long, but it's also not too short. I think it's right in the middle. This is an aftermarket tire. So it's a little bit bigger than the one that came from the factory, but it's still clears by about an inch or so. So I think this is your best bet if you have a situation like this. If this extender was the super long one it doesn't really matter. If you're using an extender you will cut your hitches capacity in half. So look at what it's rated for, cut that in half and make sure you're not overloading it with your trailer or some accessories. But the piece alone has a 3,500 pound gross trailer weight rating, and also a 350 pound tongue weight rating. And that's pretty much it. We listened to you and you had these problems with your hitches and we solved them. So all you really need to do is grab the right length and the right size to solve your problem. And that's pretty much it for a look at the line of etrailer hitch extenders..
