Review of the etrailer.com 10 foot Long Cable Lock

Colin: Hey guys, it's Colin here at etrailer. Today, I'm going to show you guys this cable lock from etrailer. There's a wide variety of uses for a cable lock. Right now we've got our e-bike locked up to our pole right here. This is going to be so we can run into the store and grab something. Maybe you're at a park, you want to sit down and eat some lunch without having to worry about someone coming by and just grabbing your bike.

Other than that, with a cable lock, you can use it for a wide variety of things. If you've got equipment on a flatbed trailer you want to lock up, maybe even a ladder on your ladder rack so you can secure that, that way when you're inside on the job or maybe in a store, no one's going to be able to come up and take those items off of your rack. The cable lock is going to be 10 feet long, so you see, even though we're just using it for a bike right now, I wrapped it around my frame a couple of times, then around the pole a couple of times, and then met back underneath with our lock portion. That way it's really secure onto the pole. The length of the cable is really nice because even though we only have one bike on here right now, if you wanted to use it for maybe a four-bike platform rack, you can get all those locked up because of its length. You're going to be able to lock multiple bikes onto a post right here, if you've got a group of buddies that you're having lunch with or you may be even going out with.

So it's not limited to just single items. Now how it operates, you can see our lock right here. It's going to have a patented pick-proof system, basically meaning that no one can just come up and pick the lock itself. We're also going to have a double-sided key. It's not just a simple unlock and then take the lock off. We're going to have to twist it all the way until it gets off of its threads.

So you can see right there, there's threads on the inside of our cable right there. And then our lock has the bolt on the inside where it threads in. So it's going to be very secure. Now, if you're ready to remove your cable lock and get going, all it needs to do is remove that and then unwrap it from the frame and the pole. But for now, we're just going to lock it back up. Once you get that over to the cable, we'll just get our block back on there.

Once you get the threads on, just turn the key all the way. You can see how it gets farther onto the cable. Now it's locked up away. We'll just remove our key. We're going to have a nice dust cap right there. It's going to help keep out any moisture, dirt, and debris from getting inside our lock cylinder that could cause some malfunctions or even rusting corrosion. Overall, this is going to be a very durable cable lock. It's going to do a great job of deterring any theft from just walking up, grabbing your bike or any other item and just walking off with it without any struggle. Well, I hope this information helped you guys out. But that's going to do it for our look at the cable lock from etrailer..
