Review of the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter And Extender

Sometimes you have accessories for your two inch hitch but you wanna put it on your vehicle that has an inch and a quarter. That's why etrailer designed this. Not only is it gonna be a seven inch extension but it's gonna convert that inch and a quarter hitch to a two inch so you can use those accessories. It'll install just like any other accessory. I'm just gonna put this in, line up the hitch pin hole and then put our hitch pin through with our clip. It does not come with a hitch pin or clip.

So, if you don't have one, we do have some here at etrailer. It's as simple as that. Now you can take your two inch accessory, which now works with your vehicle and it'll install the same exact way. If you do have an anti rattle bolt or whatever, the hole is big enough to where it will thread in. Here's some dimensions for you.

From center to center, these two holes are six and a half inches apart. And then on the hitch receiver side, from the center to the end, is two inches. And then on the accessory side, from the center here to the end, is two inches. Giving us a total length of 10 and a half inches. Whenever we insert this in, I do want to note that we don't really want to use this for hauling just because it is gonna cut our capacity in half.

But let's just say that your hitch is rated for quite a lot and you cut that in half. You just wanna make sure that you're not overloading this accessory over 350 pounds of tongue weight. So that's just a couple things to keep in mind just to make sure nothing fails when we're going down the road. Comparing our adapter and extender to other ones on our site, all of them are going to reduce your hitches capacity in half. So, you can't just go with another one thinking it's not gonna be like that.

That's just kind of the nature of the beast with it. So, the main thing about this is just make sure that you're converting to the right size hitch receiver so you can fit those accessories in. And also the length. I do think six and a half inches is pretty much a perfect size for what I'm really needing. So I can access the back or clear that spare tire. That's pretty much it for a look at the etrailer inch and a quarter to two inch hitch adapter and extender..
