Review of the Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Wiring Harness

Adam: Hi, everyone, Adam, with etrailer.com, today we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Flat 4-Pole Connector. So, whether you're just replacing your existing wiring, or if you just need a little bit of upgrade, this is definitely going to be easier to get them disconnected. One thing I did notice over time, which is probably why my connection went bad. I have to sit here and kind of wiggle it back and forth to get it on done every time, but this way I can just connect this like so, then whenever I'm done, I can use this hole here and just pull straight out. I think it's definitely going to add to the longevity of my connection and just basically keep the life a little longer, so don't have to keep replacing my 4-pole. So, if you're hauling stuff during the winter, this hole is big enough to where you're going to be able to get even the bulkiest of gloves through that hole, so you can just pull that right out pretty simply. So, whenever you're not using your trailer as well, we could utilize this hole here just to kind of keep it up and off the ground.

Also, it does come with a nice rubber jacketing over our wires here, so we don't have to worry about bringing all that wire loom all the way up. It is a cleaner look, and it's probably going to last a little bit longer than that wire loom as well. As you can see here, we can obviously make the choice and say that this one is definitely the better looking of the two. And it's going to protect your wires a little bit better. Even if we have wire loom on here, it's going to be a lot smaller too, so it's going to be more low-profile.

So, we are going to get about 48 inches of wire with our flat 4-pole and it's just going to be able to hardwire right into our existing wiring on our trailer. So, if you're looking to get a flat 4-pole connector, I do highly suggest this one because why not make it a little bit easier to make those connections Also, it is pretty easy install, so let's just go ahead and show you how easy it is. So, this is the flat 4-pole we plan on replacing, it's been awhile and we're having a little bit of connection issues. So, what we're going to do is we're going to find a good place to cut this, and then we can go ahead and connect our other connection. So, I'm going to go ahead and cut it here, get all that out of the way. So we want to strip this wire just to get that copper visible so we can tie it in to our new connection. And we can do that for all four on our old wiring and also on our new wiring.

Now we can start connecting them up, it's pretty easy, yellow to yellow, green to green, brown to brown, and white to white. We did get these heat shrink butt connectors from etrailer.com, so if you don't have any, I do suggest it just to keep those connections good and dry over time. We're going to crimp these down, so now that we have all of our connections made, we want to make sure and test it. We went ahead and did that and everything worked properly, so we're going to go ahead and heat them up. So, once we have our connections all done, we're going to go ahead and put some wire loom on there just to give it a little bit of added protection.

Well, everyone, thanks for tuning in. I hope this information helps and remember this was the Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull 4-Pole Connector..
