Review of the Lets Go Aero SilentACT Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Lock

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Let's Go Aero SilentAct anti-rattle trailer hitch receiver lock, part number SHP2082. I've got some cargo loaded up. Let's go ahead and take it out and see what it looks like with and without the silent hitch. Check out the play and movement in our cargo carrier. This anti-rattle pin reduces play and vibration in the hitch connection. Now this is going to work out for your two-inch accessories and your inch and a quarter accessories. We're talking mostly cargo carriers and bike racks. You need to be sure that you have a hollow shank.

We'll take our spring insert, and we're going to drop it down through. We need to make sure to get lined up with our pinholes. We're just going to push it down. You don't want to push it too far, get it to where it's lined up, like so. Then we can take our cargo carrier and load it up. What we're going to be doing here is just lining up our pinholes just the same.

That looks pretty good. Then we'll take our anti-rattle pin, and we're going to thread that through. Now we need to be sure we thread it through the side that the insert is on so that would be this side. We'll put it through and just start tightening it down. Once we've got a few turns where you start feeling a little bit of resistance, then you can just close it up.

What that's doing is it's drawing the shank of our cargo carrier to the side of our receiver, making a nice tight fit. With that closed up, we can then take our lock, slip it on the other side, lock it up, make sure it's engaged, and then we've got it. That's going to complete our look at the Let's Go Aero SilentAct anti-rattle trailer hitch receiver lock, part number SHP2082.
