Today on our 2015 Ford Focus, we are doing a test fit of the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Cross Bars as well as the fit kit and the foot pack. The part number for our cross bars today is RRVA126B-2. For our foot pack we are using RRRLKVA and our fit kit is DK307. We already have our front bar in place. We're going to show you how to put our last foot pack together on our back bar and then show you how to load up that back bar. The first thing we are going to start with is our foot pack here. We are going to remove this bottom piece, it just pops right off. We'll take our rubber foot and we're just going to close it around that plastic foot part.
We want to make sure that both arrows are facing the same direction, so I have both of them facing up right now. When I put them on my foot pack, I want them to face out, so towards this open part. Next, we will remove this bolt here and we're going to take our clamp, set it loosely in place, and we're going to tighten down our bolt. We're just going to tighten it down just enough so that our clamp stays in place and doesn't come off. Now we'll take it and put it onto our cross bar, sliding it in place and we will take our flat tape here. We're going to measure this inseam. It's going to be 14.9 centimeters.
Just there. We'll take our included tool and tighten this down. I'm just going to tighten down that bolt there. I like to double check my measurement, make sure it is accurate. We're ready to start loading this up. We'll start by opening up our doors here in the back.
We'll place our cross bar roughly in the spot we want it. We will have a measurement for that. We'll make sure that both clamps are sitting around or doorjamb, just like so, and now we will measure from the middle of the front foot pack here to the middle of the back clamp. That's going to be 72 centimeters. Perfect.
Now we'll check the other side. One thing to remember where placing on your crossbars is that whatever you do to one side you want to make sure you do to the other. So we have even measurements back and forth and when we start to tighten it down, we don't have the foot pack pulling to one side or the other. With both of those in place, we can take our include torque tool and we will start to tighten this down. I'm going to tighten this down so that the clamp is sitting just tight enough under that doorjamb so it holds in place. I'll do the same thing over here. I'll go back and forth and I do about ten to fifteen turns to start, and I'll do about five to ten for the rest. I just want to do this evenly to each side. You'll notice that our foot pack is going to start sitting in the correct spot. It might move a little bit back and forth but as long as you are tightening it down evenly, you shouldn't have a problem with it going over to one side too far or the other. As it starts to get tight, you'll notice it's a little harder to move the handle and you'll know it is tight enough whenever the skinnier part here is completely straight like that. Just want to make sure we do the same thing over here. Now we can close up our car doors and we can place on all of our end caps. First one I like to place on here is our cross bar end cap. That just slides right into place. Then we can take our key and rotate that and lock it. What that does is not only secure those end caps on to make sure that they don't come off while you're driving, but it will also protect any kind of T-track or T-channel mounted accessories that you have, it will prevent any theft and tampering with those locked on the ends. Then we will do our end cap for our foot pack. Just lock those in place. Then we can load up our gear and we are ready to hit the road. That's going to be our completed look at the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Cross Bars, the foot pack and fit kit for our 2015 Ford Focus.
