Review of the Rhino Rack Roof Rack on a 2015 Toyota Sienna

Today on our 2015 Toyota Sienna, we're doing a test fit of the Rhino-Rack Vortex Arrow Crossbars. The part number for our crossbars is RRVA126B-2. For the foot pack we're using with our raised rail system, is RRSX005. As you can see, we already have our front bar on. We 're going to show you first how we put the back bar together with our last foot pack. Then we'll show you how we put that on to the vehicle. I've got this one foot pack on.

I've already taken off my end cap here. What I'm going to do is just slide the inner part of the foot pack in a little bit and line up our plastic nut with the channel. That will slide right on there. When it's on, you can open up the feet, you can separate the foot so you can clamp on to the bar easier. Now, we'll set our bar on our vehicle and I'll show you how to tighten it down. Before we start tightening it down, now that I've got it loosely on our vehicle, we're going to measure the crossbar spread.

Now, with Rhino-Rack, they usually suggest about twenty-seven to thirty-one inches. Twenty-seven at the least and thirty-one at the most between the two. We're going to go from the middle of one to the middle of the other. I'm going to put it at about twenty-eight. Now what's great about that is it's going to fit most of your roof mounted accessories there.

You don't have to worry about adjusting your bars every time you have a new accessory. All right with our crossbars there, we're going to check for even bar overhang. That's going to be this piece here from the end of foot pack out to the end of the crossbar. We're just making sure that the bar is hanging over evenly between the two so it looks like it centered on there. It doesn't matter what the overhang is, just as long as it's even on both sides. All right, now that those are in place, we can take our included Rhino-Rack tool and there's a bolt right inside here that's connected to foot pack.

I'm just going to take our tool and start tightening down our foot. I'm just tightening it down until it starts to tense up a little bit. You can feel it tightening down. I'm going to go to the other side and do the same thing. Just so it's tightened down evenly and the bars not pulling to one side or the other. All right, I'm going to head back and forth between the two, doing about five turns each on either side. Again, just to tighten that up evenly. Now, one great thing about the Rhino-Rack is that on the sides here, we've got that flush rubber piece that's going to sit nice and just give a nice finish to that foot pack as it sits on your vehicle. One thing about this tool is it is a torque tool. Once the skinnier piece on here straightens out a bit, that's when you're going to know you've tightened down your foot pack enough. You don't want to over tighten it. That can actually cause damage there. We'll do about five more turns. Now as you can see as we turn it a little bit more, it is starting to straighten there. We'll just do the same to the other side. We'll take our end caps and place those on our crossbars. Now with these end caps, we do have the option to lock those for more security. That's going to secure your crossbar and your foot pack to your vehicle. Nobody will be able get into the bolt there to loosen it. It's a great feature of those bars, themselves. That's going to be our completed look at the Rhino-Rack Vortex Arrow Crossbars and how they fit on our 2015 Toyota Sienna.
