Review of the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for two-inch hitches. This is part #RM-061, and this very simple product is an awesome solution for those noisy, rattly hitches that we have all the time. In this case we're using it with a tow-bar set-up on the Roadmaster spare tire carrier. You can use this directly on the receiver tube of your truck, the back of your camper, wherever you've got a two inch opening with enough clearance for the u-bolt to go around, it'll work out great. What we want to do is remove the nuts. Now depending on your application, you'll either bring this around the bottom of the receiver tube, angle it rearward and slide our block on. This is going to be for any load that's putting weight down, that is applying ton weight.

In this case, our tow bar . it's not really, it's kind of a passive system, it's not pressing down, it's not pulling up but we'd want to switch it into the top configuration like this, again angled rearward, and up when we're doing the weight distribution style setup. Now again, you see the movement and the play that we've got there, we'll bring in the Quiet Hitch, bring it right up around the bottom. Slide the bar on top, and then our flange nuts are going to go on first. Tighten these down equally. Once we have our flange nuts snug down we're going to torque them to the specification that we'll find in the instructions.

Then we'll put our jam nuts right down on top, and tighten those to the same spec. You can see with the Quiet Hitch installed, we've got no movement, no vibration at all coming from this tow bar. It's going to give us a good solid ride and great stability no matter what our load is going to be. Whether it's a cargo carrier, bike rack, ball mount, we'll have a nice stable platform to connect or attach our accessories to. Even on the side-to-side no movement, no wiggle. Everything's nice and solid. Now that we've seen how it works and how helpful it can be, that's going to complete today's look at the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for two-inch hitches.

Part #RM-061.
