Review of the Rock Tamers Heavy-Duty Adjustable Mud Flap System

Hey there neighbors, today we're going to be taking a look at Rock Tamers, heavy-duty mudflaps. This is going to be a great way to protect your investment, regardless of whatever you're hauling. Whether it be a flat tow setup like we have here or a camper boat, or even a horse trailer, this system can be set up to fully protect everything behind you from any road debris that you might be playing up. As you can see underneath our motor realm, it didn't come with any mud flaps in the factory. This is going to be an ideal solution for a setup such as this. One of the nicest features of this mudflap setup is that it is adjustable and easily transferable from one vehicle to another. The adjustments here in the center can be loosened and the arms can be slid in and out.

The minimum measurement is going to be 67-1/2 inches with a maximum measurement of 96-3/4 inches. Each mud flat is going to be 24 inches by 24 inches. Now, each mudflap can be adjusted by trimming it. If you look on the back, you'll have some pre-corrugated sections. They're about an inch each is how much you can trim off.

Those sections each have holes that are ready to be punched out, so that way they'll easily mount in your bar here. But you can also adjust the height using the arms here. These bolts here allow it to pivot when loosen. So as you see here, we can adjust the distance away from the vehicle, as well as the height, by pivoting it down. It doesn't install directly onto your vehicle it installs onto the accessories placed into your two inch receiver. So you don't have to make any modifications to the vehicle. We've currently got ours installed on our tow bar, but if you we're hauling a trailer, you could easily move this over to your full mount, and you're good to go.

To ensure this will fit on your accessory, you want to keep in mind that you'll need at least a one inch clearance between the outside of your receiver and the end of your accessory, whether it be a full mount we've got a nice long two inch section here on our tow bar, so we can mount it in quite a bit of adjustment, back and forth. The set screws here located on the bottom will help keep it in place. There's one on each side and then there's a lock nut here to ensure that the set screw doesn't back out.Our mud flaps are going to be a three Ace inch rubber material, with a tear free fabric layer in between for extra durability. To help get the right balance between weight and strength, we have stainless steel arms with aluminum brackets for our mudflaps, as well as an aluminum center bracket. Our aluminum brackets have a black powder coat finish on them to give them a nicer look, and it has helped increase the overall durability.

And not only is this going to protect whatever you're hauling. So everything's going to look nice back there, but the stainless steel Rock Tamer logo and big, heavy duty mudflaps is going to also help make your vehicle. That's towing look much more rugged as well. Now some of our customers did report that it is a little cumbersome, moving it from one vehicle to another or getting it attached. And I can kind of see where they're coming from after hooking it up on our flat tow set up here, you do have to make sure you put it on before you slide it into your receiver. And if you forget that and hook up your flat tow, you have to disassemble the whole thing just to get it on. With that being said, you'll appreciate it when you get to your destination and there're no scratches or damage to your vehicle. And that completes our look at Rock Tamers, heavy duty mud flaps.
