Today on our 2014 Ford Expedition, were going to be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod, a roof mounted bike rack, part number RKY1014. To begin our test fit, were going to place the bike rack directly onto our load bars. Well be sure at the front that our 2 black rubber coated metal straps go around the underside of our bar. Well then remove the black cover, place these black rubber coated metal straps in the appropriate slots on the head of our carrier and tighten them down using an Allen key. With this tight, well replace the black plastic cover. We can now move to the rear. Here, well remove one of the bolts in our clamp, bring our clamp around our load bar, reinsert our bolt and tighten both down using our Allen key. With our rack secured to our load bars, its now time to load our bike.
Well first make sure our skewer is open and loose and that our rear wheel strap is undone. Well then grab our bike, place it onto our bike rack, guiding the front fork down onto our front skewer, where well secure it first and then we can move to the rear wheel and secure it with the strap. With our bike secure, were ready to head down the road and that will complete todays test fit of the RockyMounts TieRod, part number RKY1014 on our 2014 Ford Expedition. .
