Review of the SportRack 3 Bike Rack

Today, were doing a review of the SportRack tilting three-bike carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number SR2403. Go ahead and go over a few key features of our SportRack bike rack here today. The SportRack tilting three-bike carrier is made of a sturdy steel construction with great powder coating to give it a durable and rust resistant finish. Ill start by showing the tilting feature. Simply pull this pin right here, pull this frame out and it will tilt down allowing you access to your rear cargo area. It also features folding arms for convenient storage. To fold it, you simply fold this pin here. When you fold it down, you can put the pin back in place and it will keep it in place.

It also features anti-sway adjustable bike cradles that easily adjust on the arms of the bike rack depending on your bicycle size so this rack accommodates many different sizes and styles of bicycles. There is a weight capacity of 132 pounds. This rack also comes with a limited life warranty. SportRack tilting three-bike carrier is designed to fit two inch as well as last two only, an inch and a quarter receiver hitches by simply removing this adapter here. Now, in our case, well be installing it on a two-inch receiver so well need to put this back on. Simply slide it over the steel part, line up these two holes and then were ready to install it into our two-inch receiver. Now that weve gone over a few key features of our SportRack bicycle carrier, well go ahead and show you how to install it.

Simply side the shank into the receiver too and line up the holes. You can see here there are two holes that we can use in the shank. Depending on how close you need it to be to your vehicle. Were going to choose the farther out hole so then well get the most clearance between the rear of our vehicle and the bicycle carrier. Go ahead and take the anti-rattle pin, the flat washer and the lock washer installed on it and thread it in through the hole in the side of the receiver into the shank. We have that snug now.

Well go ahead and take our wrench and tighten it down. This is the pin for the other side. As you can see, the anti-rattle ball is taking up the movement between the bicycle shank and the receiver hitch but theres no more movement of just the bicycle rack. Now that weve gone over a few key features of our bike rack and showed you how to install it on your vehicle, lets go ahead and install a bicycle on the rack. Now that weve got a bicycle positioned on the rack, well go ahead and take these straps here and secure it to the rack. Simply pull over the top and then slide over the notch.

Well repeat this for all three locations on the rack. You can see here, this cradle has grooves in it that allows for your brake cable lines to run through it and not be damaged while your bicycle is resting on the cradle. Now, lets go ahead and show you how it looks going down the road. That will complete our review of the SportRack tilting three-bike carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number SR2403. .
