Review of the Swagman Hitch Bike Racks on a 2015 Nissan Rogue

Today on our 2015 Nissan Rogue we're doing a test fit of the Swagman Chinook platform-style 2-bike rack. That part number is S64683. Now we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come here to the back and pull up on our lever just like so. That's going to allow us to tilt this bike rack away from our vehicle, and we're going to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need.

With the angle of the bike rack and the angle that the door opens up, we're not going to have to worry about our closest point or if anything on our bike is going to make contact with our vehicle door. What's great about this is that we can gain full access and get anything in or out that we may need without having to remove our bike or our bike rack. We're going to simply lift up until that secures back into place and we'll take a look at how our bike is secured down. Here at the back and at the front tire we have cam buckles straps. We're just going to push down on the black lever. Those are quick and easy to remove, just like so.

Then here we have a frame hook which sits right on our frame and secures our bike down into our wheel cradles. We do have the option to lock those with a key there. We're just going to push on the button and squeeze up, and then ratchet it straight down to secure it in place. Now we'll take our bike off and set it off to the side, and we can take a few measurements. First is going to be overall what we're adding to our vehicle.

It's going to be about 23". Ground clearance is going to be about 17-3/4". Closest point is about 6-3/4". From the center of our hitch pinhole to our closest point we're going to have about 12-1/4". Now for our next position we have the option to lift up on our lever back here, pull that straight up, and fold our mast over to the side. Now lower those down a bit.

This is going to gain you full access into your back hatch in this position. If we also pull up on that lever one more time we're going to have the option to tilt this and fold it up against our vehicle. now we do have a pretty close point here but we're not going to have to worry about it. Our bike rack is solid and secure in place. We're not going to have any time that that might make contact there. We'll take a few more measurements. Going to have about 12" added to our vehicle now and a ground clearance of about 11-1/2". As for our hitch, this is designed to work with both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, class one, two, and three. It also comes with an anti-rattle bolt and lock so it's going to help prevent theft and tampering of your bike rack and also help keep a lot of the shake and play out of the bike rack as you head down the road. That's going to be our completed look at the Swagman Chinook platform-style 2-bike rack, part number S64683, on our 2015 Nissan Rogue.Speaker 2: Here it is on our test course. We'll start by going through the slalom. This is going to show us the side to side action, which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Next we're at the alternating speed bumps, which we'll see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or pothole or driving over uneven pavement. Finally, we have the full speed bumps, where we'll see the up and down action, which is just like driving out of a parking lot, garage, or driveway.
