Review of the Swagman Bike Carriers 2 inch Threaded Hitch Pin and Clip Replacement

Dustin: Hey, everybody. Dustin here etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the replacement anti-rattle bolt for Swagman bike racks for two inch hitches. So if you've lost your anti-rattle bolt or it's become damaged and won't thread in, this is going to be a great option. A lot of questions we get on our website, are, "Is it going to work with my particular bike rack" Well, I'll help you figure that one out here real quick. If you have a Swagman bike rack, these are for Swagman bike racks only, that only has a two inch shank on it then you're all set. By that I mean there's a solid one-piece shank that goes into your receiver hitch, not an adapter sleeve like you see here on our Swagman XC.

This does work with two inch hitches, but it's got an adapter on it that allows us to also work with inch and a quarter hitches. And this will not thread it in there. You'll need a different anti-rattle bolt for that, which you can also pick up here etrailer.com.So if you are missing your anti-rattle bolt, you're going to have a lot of problems. Most prominently, you're not going to be able to secure your bike rack to your hitch. It's not going to be safe going down the road.

And of course you will get all the rattles. If you we're able to secure it without using an anti-rattle bolt, you just found a smaller pin and put it in there, you're going to have this problem the whole way down the road. You don't want that. Get the real part and do it the right way. I'll show you how.So it's an exact replacement for your previous anti-rattle bolt.

Once you get your hitch pin hull and your hole and your receiver lined up, just go ahead and start threading it in by hand. Now you're not going to able to get it all the way by hand. You can use a seven eighths inch socket to tighten it down the rest of the way.Once you get it tightened down, secure it on the other side with the clip. Now having owned a Swagman bike rack with an anti-rattle bolt before, you know the benefits of it. Just to show you again.

You remember what it looked like without our anti-rattle bolt Now we've got it tight. Can shake the whole thing, and it's not nearly as wobbly as it was before. That's going to be great for you, your bikes, and your vehicle going down the road. And that's going to complete our look at the replacement anti-rattle bolt for Swagman bike racks for two inch hitches.
