Review of the Thule Interstate Rooftop Cargo Bag

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Interstate rooftop cargo bag. It offers 16 cubic feet of storage space. Its part number is TH869. This cargo bag's great for freeing up room inside your vehicle. It's going to allow us to get any of the stuff inside out and make room for those passengers and pets. It has superior water resistance that's going to help keep your gear dry even in heavy rain and snow, things such as that.

Its IPX3-rated for its water resistance. it uses a double-coated TPE material so it's going to give us great strength and durability it's able to return to its original shape and bend and flex in any direction, and all of this without using any kind of harmful plasticizers or PVCs. As you can see, we've got a fully coated zipper. It's going to help keep any of that water out. It can easily be separated to get to our gear. It's got nice long pulls on it, going to help us get everything tidied up and closed up.

It has hook and loops to hold that together. It's got a large flap, as you can see, that's going to come well down over the side. Just look at how tall it is. There's really a lot of room in the cargo bag to get a lot of gear in there. Then when you're ready to load it up we'll just pull our flap down and over.

The hook and loop closers are going to hold it there. Then we've got our large compression straps that are connected. Just pull the slack out of the use and it's going to help hold all our gear in place. With they four included straps it makes it extremely easy to attach our cargo bag to really any kind of roof rack system whether is the round bars, square bars, aero bars, or like here just a factory set of crossbars. Now that we've gone over our features let me show you how to get this installed. You'll start by unzipping the bag.

Once you've got that unzipped we're just going to place it right up here onto the roof line. We'll then bring the front of the bag right up to our front crossbar. We'll take our strap, go around our crossbar, through our connection point on our bag. Then we'll take this strap behind the bar that goes across and then down through it. That will allow us to cinch this right down to our crossbar. Here at the rear, as you can see, our crossbar spread's not quite that 36" that we need to use the back set of connection points here so we're going to use the two here on the side to draw this down right to our side rail. We'll just tuck the excess right underneath the bag to get it out of the way. Now that we've got it attached to the vehicle let's go ahead and get it loaded up. We're going to undo our buckles on each side. Then we'll just fold our flap forward. That will complete today's look at the Thule Interstate rooftop cargo bag. It offers 16 cubic feet of storage space. Its part number is TH869. .
