Review of the Thule Pulse Cargo Box

Today, well be reviewing the Thule Pulse line of rooftop cargo boxes. Weve laid out all three boxes in the Pulse line and as you can see here, the difference between them is the size. The Pulse Alpine cargo box, part number TH613 has a carrying capacity of 11 cubic feet. As you can see, its longer, making it more suited for carrying larger items, like skis.Next, the Pulse large cargo box, part number TH614. It has a carrying capacity of 14 cubic feet. Finally, we have the Pulse XL cargo box.

Part number TH 615, which has a carrying capacity of 16 cubic feet. These cargo boxes are an economical way to carry anything from groceries and gardening equipment to small duffle bags and carry-on luggage. The easy grip mounting hardware allows for simple, tool-free installation onto your rooftop crossbar. To mount your Pulse cargo box, simply place the box onto your crossbars and insert the easy grip clamps into the rubber-lined mounting slots in the bottom of the box. The mounting slots are on track, which allows you to position the clamps over your crossbars, even if your vehicle has a shorter roof. Keep in mind, the crossbar spread must be a minimum of 23-5/8 inches.

Once you have your clamps positioned properly, simply turn the hand knobs to tighten them down and your box is secure.Well now show you what each of the boxes look like on the roof and how they interact with the rear cargo door. First, is the TH 613 Pulse Alpine. Now, as you can see, because of its extended length, the cargo door on this particular vehicle does come in contact with it. Keep that in mind before you make your purchase, as it may interfere with entry into your cargo area. Next is the TH 614, the Pulse large and finally, the TH 615, the Pulse XL.

Notice that neither of these, when positioned correctly on the roof, will come in contact with the rear carpet door. Each of these boxes have an extremely low profile and an aerodynamic shape that helps to reduce drag and wind noise when your vehicle is in motion. They feature a single-side opening lid, so you can safely load your good early anesthetic response from the passenger side of the vehicle and include a built in strap that makes it easy to open and close the lid. The cargo boxes also have an oversized secure lock on the passenger side. This specially designed lock prevents you from removing the key if the box is not properly closed and locked to eliminate the possibility of your box coming open as you travel down the road. The lock includes a Thule one-key system core.

You can swap it out to make all your Thule accessories keyed alike. Now, these are two load straps included with the cargo boxes that connect to the built in anchor points on the easy grip hardware to secure your gear in the box. The Pulse line is constructed of rugged inaudible 00:03:32 to resist impact, whether in harsh UV rays and the matte black finish adds a touch of elegance when the box is mounted to your roof. Each box has a carrying capacity of up to 110 pounds. They are made in the USA and come with a limited lifetime warranty. Now that weve gone over some of the features and specs of the Thule Pulse line of cargo boxes. Well load up some gear our TH 614 and show you how they look driving down the road.
