Review of the Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Carrier on a 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon

Today on our 2014 Subaru Outback we're going to be test fitting the Yakima LoadWarrior. This is a roof-mounted cargo basket. Its part number is Y07070. Now it's designed to fit either factory or aftermarket crossrails. The clamp design is such that it makes it very versatile. With the Subaru factory rack already in place we're going to be our test fit by placing our cargo basket right up onto the load bars.

We remove the t-bolt from the one side of the clamp that that t-bolt sits in. We removed it the same side on all four of them to make it easier to get it onto the vehicle. We'll now just take a quick look to be sure we've got it centered. Let's go that way just a touch. Then we're going to bring this lower portion of the clamp around the underside of the crossbar.

We're going to place the t-bolt down through it. We'll rotate it to where it will go into the appropriate slot there. Then we'll start tightening down these long wing nuts we've got. Each clamp has two wing nuts that we want to tighten down. This is going to ensure that we get a good even grip on our crossbars. With that one secure let's move onto our next one here.

We're just going to repeat that same process. We'll stick the t-bolt down through the slot in the lower portion of the clamp, rotate it so it goes into the appropriate slot, and then tighten our wing nut down to secure it in place. Got the two passenger sides done. Now we'll come here to the driver side. These cargo baskets are great for freeing up a lot of room inside your vehicle. There's plenty of room for a lot of goodies to be stored up here.

It will free up room for those passengers, pets, or kids, whatever you decide you want to take with you. Also, that dirty gear, wet, muddy stuff like that that you don't want inside your car staining your carpet. Right in the cargo basket, you don't have to worry about it. The LoadWarrior does come, if you look up there at the front, does come with the fairing pre-installed. That's going to help the aerodynamics, also help reduce any kind of wind noise that you might have from the cargo carrier. These are pretty to install. It's just a matter of getting them in the right position on your roof, and then tightening down a few wing nuts. With all of them secure, our cargo basket on the roof, we're ready to load it down with the gear and hit the road. That will complete today's test fit of the Yakima LoadWarrior, part number Y07070, on our 2014 Subaru Outback. .
