Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500- Video

Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Hi there, Silverado owners. Today in our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to be installing Draw-Tite's fifth wheel or gooseneck wiring harness. This wiring harness is going to put your seven pole connector in a much more convenient location for your fifth wheel or gooseneck trailers. Often your fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer, the cable that comes with it isn't long enough to reach over the back of the bed of your truck to plug into your existing factory connector. And if it is long enough, it's usually just barely long enough. And then you've got a cable rubbing up against the outside of your tailgate, potentially scuffing up the paint. more

Tekonsha T-One Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Traverse

Ryan: Hey everybody. Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today, on our 2016 Chevrolet Traverse, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. This is what our wiring is going to look like installed. It's going to provide us with the necessary lighting functions to give us that piece of mind knowing that we're going to stay safe and legal.Whether you do a little bit of towing or a lot of towing, this is going to be a great wiring option for you. Many of our customers reach out to us, and said, years after installing, it's still working perfectly and trouble-free.Now, one thing I do want to point out, not only can you store your wiring this way with the dust cover, but you can also get a bracket to permanently mount it to your hitch itself. My favorite part about it is you can hide it with this removable panel. To begin our installation, we're going to come to the back of the vehicle, and we're going to be working on the passenger side, right here in this area. more

Best 2013 Chevrolet Impala Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Options

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today you're gonna be taking a look at the best trailer wiring options for your 2006 through 2013 Chevrolet Impala. Here we're gonna have our Curt wiring, which is gonna give us a four pole plat trailer connector, and then over here we're gonna have our Tekonsha wiring, which is also gonna give us a four pole flat trailer connector. Now, if I was looking for wiring for my Impala, I personally would go with the Curt because a few little things that they give you that the Tekonsha in the packaging. But let's take a closer look at some of the features of both of them.Since both of our kits are gonna give us that four pole flat trailer connector, it's gonna give us all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our tail lights, turn signals, and our brake lights. As far as installation goes, it is gonna be custom fit. We're not gonna have to worry about cutting or splicing with either one of our wiring kits. We're just gonna have a simple T connector that's gonna plug in line behind our passenger's side tail light. Now, Curt's gonna use the same T style connector to plug in behind the passenger tail light, but they're gonna provide you with some black silicone because there's a rubber grommet that we can cut a slit in, pass our wires through, and then our wiring is gonna stay inside the trunk until we need it.Whereas the Tekonsha is designed to stay on the outside, so we would route our four pole end towards the center of our hitch, and use some included zip ties to tie everything up.Once you have your T connector plugged in and our four pole routed wherever you'd like it, we're just gonna have a simple ring terminal, and they do provide us with a self-tapping screw to ground out the system.Another thing I like about the Curt is they give us about foot more four pole wire from the end of the four pole connector to the T connector, which is gonna help out a lot if we do decide to route it inside the trunk or just give us a lot more options so we can avoid any kind of heat sources or moving part that may damage the wire.To sum everything up, if you're looking for wiring for your Impala, I would recommend the Curt wiring kit because they are gonna provide us with more wire, which gives us more options of where and how we mount it up. more

That's going to not only allow us to have a 7-way plug, but also a 4-pole.Another thing I like is that the wiring is actually going to come pre-installed with some wire loom to not only help keep it protected, but to also give it a cleaner, more factory look. It's also going to have this dust cap, which is not only going to protect our terminals from any dirt or debris, but it's also going to allow us to store it around our safety chain loops just like this.To begin our install I went ahead and removed our spare tire. Now you don't have to, but it does give us a lot more room to work with. Now up here at our 7-way connector there's going to be a little gray clip. more
