Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Lincoln MKX we're going to be taking a look at the T1 vehicle wiring harness, part number 118682. Here's what our wiring's going to look like fully installed. It's going to be tucked up behind our bumper and it is going to stay on the outside of the vehicle at all times. It does have this dust cap right here, which is nice and convenient so we can just hook it right to our hitch, close the cap and now our wiring is ready whenever we want to hook up our trailer. With our wiring kit we're not going to have to cut into any of our wires. They're going to provide us with some T connectors that are going to plug right in place, but it is a little bit involved. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Lincoln MKX

Today on our 2008 Lincoln MKX, we'll be installing the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118551. All right. When we're ready to hook up our trailer and we've pulled our siring out of our trunk, all we've got to do is make sure our wiring is off to the side away from our trunk latch, we can shut our hatch, and e have a nice, ready-to-use connection down here to hook up to our trailer. We undo our dust cover here, hook up to our trailer, and make sure everything else is attached properly, and we're ready to hit the road and tow our trailer. When we arrive at our destination and we're ready to unhook from our trailer, once everything's unhooked, we can put our dust cover back on here, open our hatch back up, lift up our spare tire cover here, place the wire inside, close our cover, and, as you can see, it's up and out of the way. You don't have to worry about it getting snagged in something when you're loading cargo in and out of your trunk, just close your trunk and it's like it's not even there. All right, here's what our wiring harness comes with. We have our module box here, which will isolate our trailer wiring from our vehicle wiring and eliminate any possible back-feeding of voltages from our trailer into our vehicle's wiring, preventing any damage that may occur there. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Lincoln MKS

Today in our 2014 Lincoln MKS, we're going to review an install, the tow ready T1 vehicle wiring with full pull trailer connector, part number 118599. The four flat trailer connector is going to send signal from the vehicle to mimic the running light, turn signal and brake signals on our trailer. Before we show you how to install it, let's go ahead and see what it looks like once it's installed. We open up the rear trunk and the spare tire compartment, and stored down next to our spare tire, where it's out of the inclemate weather when not in use. Here's our four flat connector. By keeping it inside we can avoid a lot of that wear and tear, and corrosion that'll build up on connectors that are left outside and exposed. As we take the four flat connector we're going to run it out and over the threshold. more
