Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today I'm going to walk you through how to replace your engine air filter on your 2015 Ram 1500. we're going to be installing the PTC custom fit air filter. Replacing your air filter is going to allow your engines not only run cooler, but it's going to save you money because it's going to save you gas mileage. Installing this is very easy. When you go to get your oil changed and the mechanic asks you if you want to get your air filter changed because it needs it, don't pay him to do it, because you can do it at home.
As a matter of fact, I have three kids and I have them change the air filter. It's that easy. It's the first way to teach your kids how to maintain a vehicle.Right in between all the pleats, as the particles come in, the air filter catches them and hold onto them to keep them from going inside of your engine. Once you install this and you put your lid back on top, this rubber ring right here around this outside, what it does is the lid seals on it, and it keeps air from flowing through the sides so that all the air flow goes through the filter. That way it catches the particles.
If we had a gap in here, all those particles would just go right over the side and into your engine.Now, to replace our filter, we're going to look for this large black lid. You're going to see a big tube on it. It goes to your engine. We're going to have some little clips that hold the lid on. Just going to pop them off like that.
We're going to take our lid. We're going to pull it up to the side like this. Pull out our old filter. If you look down inside the pleats, you can see all the stuff that's caught down inside of there. Potentially, if this filter wasn't there, all that stuff will be going in your engine.
When all that stuff goes into your engine, it could cause issues.I suggest checking your engine air filter at least every six months and replacing it once a year. When doing that, at the same time, I also recommend changing your cabin air filter. Changing your cabin air filter at the same time, it's going to be very easy. Normally located right behind the glove box. It's going to allow any air that flows inside the cab to be clean so it's safe for you and any of your passengers. Insert the new one, and we'll make sure that the pleats are facing down, screen's facing up, and reinstall the lid. Again, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. This is the correct filter for my vehicle - exactly what I ordered. Delivery took so long that I started to doubt that the order had gone through. I got tired of waiting and bought one locally and installed it. I’ll use this one in the future so it all worked out.
My package arrived in ok condition! Way to much much room to be shaken and be destroyed. Luckily mine arrived ok. Some of the original packaging was dented and deformed do to over sized box! I got lucky!

Looks like good quality, but the car is new and I haven't installed it yet.
I clearly identified my vehicle as a 2000 Mercedes Benz E320. The air filters (3) which you sent me are the right width, but are an inch too long, and are therefore unusable. They cannot be made to fit in the air cleaner compartment. Not acceptable.
