Video Transcript for Vision X H13 Halogen Headlight Bulbs Installation - 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Hi there Jeep owners. Today in your 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Vision X's super bright headlight bulbs. Each of these bulbs are going to produce 900 lumens to illuminate the road in front of you and are a direct replacement for H13 bulbs, which is the size that you'll need for your Unlimited Wrangler. And here we've got both of our lights on. You can see the one on the left is our new bulb and the one on the right is the factory bulb. And it does seem like it did a little bit brighter here with the super bright white of our new bulb in comparison to our factory bulb.

So this should help your visibility at night a little bit, should help make things pop a little better. Those animals out there with their eyes, if you live out in the country you can see those deer a little bit better. And these are also a great replacement if you've got a headlight that went out, you can go ahead and pop one of these in. You're gonna get the benefits of the brighter white and you're also fixing your issue with no headlight to begin with. We'll begin our installation over on the driver's side with the hood open.

And just on the back side of our headlight assembly, we can remove the cover to access our bulb so we can get that old one out of there. So you can kinda see it here. A lot of the wiring and stuff's in the way. But it's the whole cap on the back side of the assembly for your headlight. We're gonna twist it counter clockwise to remove it.

So I'm just gonna give her a twist there and that's gonna pop the whole cap off of there. And we can then just slide it on outta there. It's usually easier to go down, get it around that wiring and then pull it up. We'll just set our cap aside and that's gonna reveal the bulb inside. Behind the cover we just removed, you're gonna see an electrical connector there that's connected directly to our bulb.

If you want, you can disconnect the electrical connector and then take the bulb out. But I find it's usually easier because if this tight space to then grab the bulb assembly. And if we grab the connector end and kind of slide our hands towards the front of the vehicle, you're gonna feel it spread out. And you'll kind of feel a couple of ears, just like on our cover here, little ears. Grab those ears, turn it counter clockwise and then we can slide the entire bulb out. When taking your bulbs out and also when inserting bulbs, I do recommend not touching the end of the bulb. The grease on your fingers can cause hot spots on the bulb assemblies, which can cause premature failure on them. So we're gonna avoid touching that. Now that we got it out, we can more easily access our electrical connector here. We're gonna press in on the release tab and disconnect the bulb. So you wanna pull back on the lock tab there. And press in on the release tab. And then we can just pop that off of there. Now if we look here, this is all black in there. There should've been a rubber seal on here. So, we're gonna reach our hands inside and see. And, sure enough, our rubber seal had stuck to the assembly. So you just wanna check that, 'cause if that seal's stuck in there when you go to put your new bulb on. The new bulb should come with new seals and if you double seal it, your gonna have a heck of a time getting that bulb to actually seat in there. So we're gonna go put this guy aside and grab our new bulb now. Now we'll take our new assembly. And you can see here it's got that seal installed. And this guy just goes in there, and you'll see these ears here. Those are gonna line up and you'll just turn it clockwise, once again, to lock it in place. What I like to do is get this guy down in there. Again, don't touch the actual glass part of it. And after I've got it kind of in there, I'll look at the other side, 'cause you can actually see the headlight on the other side, which makes it easier to line the tabs up. So, right now I'm just kinda twisting it around, looking at those tabs, there we go, until it goes all the way in. Once it goes all the way in we can then turn it clockwise and now we've locked it into place. Now we can reconnect our electrical connector. And it just pushes on until it clicks into place. You'll have to spin it around until you find the right alignment tabs. There we go. After you've got it clicked on, push that lock tab down. Now that we've got everything connected, any of the wires that you pulled out when removing your bulb, make sure you get those tucked back inside that housing because you'll have a hard time getting your cover back on if it's blocking any of the way. So now we can take our cover and just reinstall it. Just work it around those wires. Then we'll get it back up into place once we get around those. And you just kinda spin it around until you feel the ears grab. And then a little bit further clockwise, it'll click into place. And we've got it sealed up. We can then repeat the same procedure over on the other side. On the other side you will have to pop out your air box. Now I've got the one over on the other side replaced. The air box here, it just pulls out of there. These holes that are located down in here is what the rubber feet go into that you see here. So this does just pull up. There's one bolt right here on the side you'll have to take out. And it's a lot easier if you take this screw loose here, so that way you can pull it up and take the whole thing off. I went ahead and got the screws out of the way as well 'cause that also makes it just a little bit easier to separate the top and bottom half. But, by no means do you need to separate the top and bottom half. And that completes our installation of Vision X's super bright headlight bulbs on our 2019 Wrangler Unlimited..
