SMI Tow Bar Braking System Recommendation for 2018 Ford Edge
Question:
I have someone interested in the AIr Force One braking system on a 34foot Newmar. His tow vehicle will the be a 2018 Ford Edge. Besides the Air Force One, what other equipment will he need?

The Air Force One, part # SM99243, is a great braking system for motorhomes with air brakes. Other systems still work but this one prevents false braking when the coach's brake lights are activated with the exhaust brake.
I attached an install video for this kit on a similar Ford Edge as yours for you to check out as well.
For a base plate kit they'd need the part # BX2657 which is a confirmed fit for the 2018 Edge. For a tow bar the part # BX7380 would be a great option.
For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.
