Is Broken Zerk Fitting of Trailer EZ Lube Spindle a Problem

Question:

Anyone purchasing this axle spindle this year 2019 have the same looking grease zerk fitting as I have? Its a totally flat face with a small pin hole in the middle. Research shows it may be a type of button head zerk fitting. Im not sure how youre supposed to get a button head adapter in there to grease the thing though? Did I get a unicorn? Sales part of this ordeal has been great so far BTW....

Actually it looks like your spindle had a standard zerk fitting on it at one point and it was possibly removed on purpose or accident. We don't have a way to install a new one.

Honestly though you are better off without using this type of EZ lube setup. Repacking the bearings with grease by hand will give you the best results and won't risk you over-greasing the hub and blowing out the grease seal.

I have linked a video to the right that shows how to pack trailer bearings. Be sure to remove all of the old grease (and possibly the old zerk fitting), prior to reinstalling the bearings.
